Do you find it hard to coupon when you're on foodstamps?

I just started couponing, and it seems like a great majority of what I do find are for things like toothpaste and mouthwash. There need to be more coupons for food items. This way I could maky my foodstamp budget stretch a little farther. Of course, when there are food coupons out there, they sometimes aren't worth saving....sometimes.

Honestly it doesn't matter if you are on assistance or a tight budget coupons are not always that useful. I think it depends on where you live and what's available. I'll agree shows that put on airs like we ALL have the opportunity to leave the grocery store paying pennies are very misleading!! I would suggest if you have somewhere like an Aldi by you to check them out they are usually cheaper than all the stores here and they do accept food stamps. Otherwise it's a crapshoot here as to what store is going to have a deal on anything. Knowing your prices makes a difference.

We do shop at Aldi. We also shop at Sam's Club, which does help a bit. I still wish there were more food coupons out there.

I did not find it worth our wild to shop at Sam's unless there was someone to split the membership with and some of the items. I usually work on a budget of $75 or less for a family of 5 and you know you can't come out of Sam's with everything you need for under $75.
I've seen plenty of food coupons out there the only problem is you have to buy 2 of something or it's a very small amount off... and still makes it more expensive to buy the brand name than to just shop at Aldi and know your prices.
