There I was sitting on my computer yesterday, with the TV on, on news a report came on showing the shopping centre I just came from surrounded by police, in the car park near where I had my car parked a man had been shot..it made me think how minutes in your life can make a difference, I was going to stop and have a nice cup of coffe in the food court but decided against it, if I had I could have been in the middle of that shooting..it is very scary how when your comfort zone is messed with how insecure you can feel...life can be very scary these days.

They call such escapes providential escapes. Good for you.
I have not been involved in such misses but I can recollect two very close incidents with myself:
I was once waiting in front of a store to collect my stuff. Once it was handed out to me, someone standing a little away called and I moved a few steps to chat with him. In a fraction of a second I looked back to see a big granite piece from the cladding on the fascia had come off and fell down straight vertically on where I stood a second back. Thank heavens: if its weight & the sharp edge on the side had hit the center of my crown..I wouldn't be here writing this.
On another occasion, I was learning swimming in an open well with a few other boys with a crude device that keeps us afloat, in a countryside. A huge guy thought it was fun jumping straight down on that thing, which burst due to his weight & impact. It was a deep well and I was nearly drowned but for a worker who had seen this and rescued me.
We must thank God for the extra years he has bestowed on us!

Reading your conversation made me think of my close call.
It was during a stormy night returning home from visiting my girl friend of the time. It would only be a 15 mile trip but I would have travel though a hillside wood. The trip down through the wood was no problem but a lot of water was flowing across the road. At the bottom close to a river the road was impassible so I had to return only to find the side of the road I had just traveled over had just slid down the hillside.

Why were you sitting on your computer?? I'm not game to do that, I waaay too heavy and likely to do a lot of damage.
Sorry, read your first words and a mental picture formed...I couldn't resist some silliness.
What you describe is why I live in the bush, miles from anywhere. I feel much safer.

Good to see you're still with us!
I'm never drinking coffee again! I never drank it anyway, so that was easy. I didn't see it on our news (ABC24), but you'd think a shooting would make national headlines. I'll try & find it now on yahoo news.

hello,
Yeah, that is true we cant even know when we will gonna be safe or not. People nowadays are more scary because they are more pro in doing something bad to other people. Thank god you are safe and you are in the food court. They just do it for money.

I was in the bank once and a robber came in, he made us all put our hands up in the air. He got his money and ran out of the bank. When these things happen and we are not hurt it is just not our time to go.

That is very scary that you had just been there and if you had made a different decision you might have been there when it happened and possibly have gotten hurt. Sometimes I think we have guardian angles that look out for us and pull us out of harms way when it is not our time. I am glad you were not there when it happened and were home safe and sound. I am sorry the man got shot there.

It is scarey to have our comfort zone messed with. I have heard of this happening with other people as well. Fate and if your timing is off then you could get into trouble. Luckily yours wasn't.

Wow!! What a scary thought! Be thankful that you decided, for whatever reason, not to stop for coffee. Call it intincts, call it guardian angels, call it premonition. Whatever you want to call it, it all boils doen to the same thing, by leaving that mall when you did, you could have very well have saved your own life.
You are right....life can be very scary these days.

It is scary to think about the things that could have happened if we had made a different decision. Some years ago there was a robbery in my local grocery store, and it happened 10 minutes after I had left the shop I could easily have been there when it happened. The shop was very close to the apartment where I lived at that time and I could see the policecars and everything from my window when I got back to my home. Sometimes a few minutes really makes a difference, and I am so happy that I wasn't there when it happpened.

Now a days it is scary just leaving your home. With the road rage out there. Everyone is in such a hurry. I know my husband will drive faster because someone is driving so close to his bumper. I don't feel safe when people do that. I can ignore the driver behind me, but my husband can't.
People do not enjoy themselves shopping they are just rushing around. I like to take my time and enjoy the fact that I was able to get out of the house.
I am so glad you decided not to stop and have that cup of coffee.

Your life can be in danger just in that fleeting moment if you stop to get a cup of coffee at that food court. Sometimes, life can be messed up if you make a small decision that is totally wrong, and you won't even know about it. Within my life, except the discussion of danger, I had made million of wrong decisions, some even hurting my financial status even until now.
