way of teaching kids

Children in one's care must be in good if not perfect health. Speaking of school situation, both mentor and kids must be in good health to hasten and facilitate the teaching-learning situations. When any member of the team is sick. teaching and learning is hampered. In the homes, milk, eggs, fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry and other nourishing food in correct proportion must be served to all concerned to boost good health. In teaching children the basics, the teacher must arouse the children's interest for them to participate actively in all school tasks. Nowadays, corporal punishment is banned in the classroom. This means beating and castigating children for misbehavior isn't allowed. Teacher should be a good model. He should do what is good and proper for pupils are great imitators. Teacher should understand the strengths and weaknesses of every pupil so he can do individualize teaching and do remedial measures. In the homes, children parents are their primary teachers. Like the professional teachers in school, they exert a very high degree of influence on their children. So parents must set themselves as fine examples for their children to follow. The home and the school must work hand in hand for the all-round development of the total school population. With the aid extended from the outside by government and non-government sectors, there is no reason why children will fail as law-abiding citizens of tomorrow. I knew these things because I was once a public school teacher.

Archaiwy --welcome to mylot. I am of the view just as one gets his or her spouse based on fate -- children also is thanks to God and is due to fate. However after the child is born it has to be taught good things in life and parents should set an example. I do not believe in beating. Parents may caution the child orally but not beat and that too after the child crosses 7 or 8 years age. What type of parent are you? You have not told about it. Supposing you are not a parent how are your parents treating you and what you want?

I think the best way to teach kids must start first with the parents. The parents must show their children good things and these children will also do it since they really love to imitate the things that there parents are doing. Parents must also talk to their children about their problems and help to solve it and in these way the children thinks he/she is not alone even in problems. And most especially parents must remind again and again good things about their children to be able to identify if they are doing good or bad things. After these they are now ready to face the community and school with a better understanding about things and better way of socializing with others.
