Many people defeat themselves. Instead of looking forward with an open mind and a will to learn, they allow fear of failure and low self image take over. I love to learn something new and I may take a while to learn to do something but I set myself goals and then it becomes a matter of pride. Of course there are times that I fail but then I just look for something else to learn.

That's the challenge in learning new things. The difficulties will be the foundation of how well we'll become after those hardtimes.
I think, the success and the failing in every journey is just a matter of one's point of views. Wether they think it's a success or a failure, the most important is the learning! How we deal with it... and how we will deal with it again if chances are go with our way. And how it will affect our maturity as a person of wisdom.
We should not fear the pains it may bring. As an old quote says: No pain, no gain!
Be positive! All is well that will ends well for sure. And keep in mind, you're not alone to be in pain. Just let it go and you're okay again, like other humans do.
So, to those who fear the failures... be not! For it will bring you more successes in life!
Life will be better if we will give our best shot to live life to the fullest!

Some people even before they have tried using a new thing have the preconceived notion that it will be difficult to operate. Hence, that mindset make it indeed difficult for them to learn how to operate it.
But indeed , when you are to learn a new thing for its operation , such as a new cellphone whose brand is different from your previous, it seems difficult at first to get used to it. But with constant usage, you will soon get used on how it is being operated.

You are right! I work with peoples every day. Very young and some you can say in 30 to 50 years. What I learn is that children so much faster thin adults in learning. Children learn more easily because they don't know anything at first. Their brain are fresh and they learn as they go along. Adult learn less easily because their brains have settled into the patterns that work best for then. After doing it so many times. So when they try somethings new then thinks of frailer, the costs if they fail, what their friends will say or thinks of them. Some adults have all ready formed their opinions about how it will turn out before they start, because of their past experienced. This just my opinion.
