i know it's a bit early but, I really love the holidays. Specially when i spend it at home and not working.
As a seafarer or popularly called as a "seaman", I spend 8 to 10 months working on a ship traveling around the world. In our country it's a good profession but the downside of this job is most of my life is spent away from my family. Luckily, i get to spend christmas and new year at home this year, and i can spend my holidays with my family. It's been a while since a spent my christmas and new years at home so i'm trying to enjoy it as much as i can. and so far so good :)

I think most people like holiday and festival because they can share time with their family members as you. Me too, like so much spending time with my kids on holidays. the most important part of a holiday or festival is you can enjoy time with your loved ones. if not, even the streets and city are bustling, your heart is still lonely.

I like holidays. It is the only time to relax and rest from stressful work.Sometimes holidays is quite tiring to due to many activities to do and go to but it is worth it because of the enjoyment and happiness of it.

I enjoy holidays so much, even if I'm still at school and not yet working but it's a great time to just chill out and do nothing productive for those days, spend them with your family and friends and recharge your mind batteries a bit. Can't wait to get some good 12 hour sleep in a day and to do nothing for these days, it's just great.

I love 12 hours of sleep. because by the time that i work, sometimes i don't get to sleep at all :) Escaping the responsibilities from school is really relaxing. Specially when it has been stressful for some time. Just a Good RnR for the body.
hope you have a pleasant holiday

Yeah, especially when it's the end of the semester in school and you have all possible exams squeezed in two weeks, so you have to rip yourself off to do it all and to do them all to pass and get good grades, so these holidays really come good to rest yourself. And I'm going skiing this year so it's gonna be awesome. I'm having pleasant holidays for sure, I wish the same to you.

I actually find the holiday experience quite relaxing, and not entirely stressful. If you take shopping out of the question, it can be definitely rewarding. The time spent "just chillin'" with family and friends is priceless.
I recommend to anyone not to spend too much time looking for that "must get" widget and just focus on preparing nice meals, downtime, and relaxation. Sometimes the simplest of gifts are often times the most cherished.
So, my advice to everyone this holiday season, get your shopping done at the latest by the 2nd week of December and find reasonable simple yet thoughtful gifts.
After that, as @davaome will appreciate, everything else is "easy sailing".

Very well said phunkystar :) I agree that sometimes the simplest of gifts are often times the most cherished. It doesn't really take a lot to satisfy my happiness, just a good time chilling with friends, having a nice dinner with family and relatives. 12 hours of rest :)
Hope you have a great Holiday this season phunkystar.
cheers to that
