Problems with Associated Content

United States
November 30, 2011 9:14pm CST
I have been with associated content for several years now and I usually do well with them. However, I seem to be having real issues with them lately. It seems that all the articles that I write get declined and now I have two payments pending- once since Nov. 17. Is anyone else having problems getting their money or having articles declined that would have been approved before. The excuse I am getting is that it is not a good search. Some of the articles are the same type of articles as others that I have written.

I'm a member there but I have only submitted one article with them. It was approved but it was based on hits I think. To be honest I really don't know how it works there. I do write for Helium but I haven't in quite some time. I liked their marketplace options where you got a payment specified versus writing for hits. I thought about really exploring AC a bit more but if you are having trouble with payment, I won't waste my time with it.

I have never had an issue with them before. I think that it is just an oversight somewhere. I hope so. They are usually a great site for work and I hope these are fixe as I throughly enjoy the site.

Just a third-party note - I've NEVER heard of troubles with AC payments before this. In 2-3 years of chatting about them. It sounds like an oddity which will be resolved in due course.

I have no idea how you have worked for associated content. If I can say it is like contribution.I first hear of "associated content".Anyway,It is quite a bother to one that something goes wrong with what he has faith in for many years.I hope they soon have that in order.

Associated Content is a great writing site for those in the US. I have written many articles there. I have just recently noticed some issues with them.

You mean it is not available for people who live out of US.

I haven't written any articles with them for quite some time, not because I had been experiencing any issues, just because I haven't had the time to really aply myself. I have not had any problems receiving my payments from them either. Maybe this is just a glitch in the system right now and it will all smooth back out. I have noticed many, many changes to the site since it has gone to Yahoo though. I really hope that the great site I Have always known it to be doesn't change for the worst.

I hope that it is due to the current changes that are taking place too! i have never experienced problems with them either.

Hi Carolscash, I think Associated Content is getting from bad to worse after Yahoo has taken over. I think Yahoo just want those news that can draw in traffic, even if these are not very well written. It is a move away from the good old days of evergreen content. I think the system migration may have some impacts on payment. Better to send them email, even if they do not reply, it is a record to show that they have not paid you yet.

I hope you are wrong because I really enjoy the site. I sent an email yesterday because I need to know where my payments are and what is going on with the site.

I hate the changes from Associated Content to Yahoo! Contributor Network. Once I used to repost my pillar posts from my blogs. (A pillar post is a long piece of timeless content in a blog ranging from 500-100 words.) But most of them would be declined because it fits better for a blog or has irrelevant links. Same with content that isn't intended for upfront payment! I'm sticking to Triond for completely original content not published everywhere else and keeping my pillar content where it belongs - in my blogs.

I also write for Triond, but I really liked Associated Content much better. However, I guess I will just keep writing and hope for the best to come out of it. I do have a blog that I post to as well.

That is very discouraging indeed, hope they can settle you down. It is very sad when you put alot of efforts on something just to end up been dissapointed.

Very discouraging this time of the year as that is my money for gifts for the family.

With recession on the way, many would cut back on way they spend and use money. I guess, it has go to do a lot with economic turbulence. Just wait and thing will get alright. I used to write for AC, but they do not pay upfront payments for non-us residents and so not using this site as before.

I know many who don't write there due to that reason, but I am in the US so it should not be an issue.

Personally this is a site I quit using quite some time ago, as all my articles I tried submitting kept on getting rejected, and I have heard that it has gotten even worse since then. It is so hard sometimes to find places to submit my Writings for payment anymore. I am not wanting to put my writings really just anywhere is why I am selective. Just wish there was an easier way.

I have been having some issues with them too. For example I wrote a dozen product reviews, the first 7 or so got an offer. Then the next 2 they said "this wouldn't be searched for" and declined. They pay me for a review of a 10$ toy but don't think a 70$ baby gate will get reads? OK whatever! I posted those display only. So then I sent in another product review - and the response I get is that they don't pay for product reviews. That is news to me since the last 7 I wrote got an offer! I have not had any trouble having my payments go through though. I am going to continue submitting product reviews and hope more of them get offers. Most of my product reviews were baby toys and things, but the last one was not. I'm hoping it only got declined because it was a different category. We'll see! But I do know AC has changed a lot since I've been there. It is hit or miss and you have to decide if you think it's worth your time. I don't have a hard time writing a quick product review so I'm going to keep trying.

That is the same kind of stuff I am getting. I wrote three articles about restaurants near a college nearby and two were accepted and one said that it would not be searched for enough. That is crazy! I know that some guideline rules changed yesterday when they switched to the Yahoo domain, but I am not sure of what I read about product reviews. You might check into it. I will keep writing there as I do like the site and I do well with page views but I need to find some more upfront payments for a little while anyway.

I was approved to write for them but I haven't written anything yet. I am hoping they are just running behind and that you get paid for your work and I also hope that you get more article approved soon. Sorry I don't have any personal experience with them at this time.

Thanks and I have usually done well with them making sometimes over $125 a month. I am happy wiht that for spare time work. I just need to figure out why so many issues and where the money is that they owe me.

I do not get what your mean but I still want to give this response , you know the reason ...LOL

No, I really don't know the reason for these issues or I would not have posted this to see if others are having the same type of problems. Thanks for your response, but I am not sure of why the question was so hard for you to understand. Do you not know the site that I am speaking of?
