I using a Toshiba laptop right now and so far I don't encounter any problem yet, hopefully I won't in the future.I think you should still consult expert on this to know what are the features you are looking for so that you don't have any regret when you buy it.

That depends on your budget. I suggest you buy a branded one. It costs a little higher but you can assure of it's quality which matter the most. I am suing Acer for 4 years now and still working good.

Well it all depend on your need and budget. As we all know more better the specs are then more expensive it get. There are alot of things to see in the laptop specs before you can decide which laptop is the best for you. If you are confused about the better specs then for basic i suggest you choose a laptop with bigger memory RAM. The bigger the memory RAM is then it will make the laptop less lagging. But these days, a laptop with a bigger RAM would cost quite much money. There is still much to thinks about computer specs in advance, so it would be better if you consulting with someone who know about that better so you wouldn't end up choosing a wrong laptop. Hope you can find the best laptop for you. ^_^

my, I need a "gaming" laptop, and I would say i have a "big" budget :). so it's the ram that i should take note of, what about this video card that i heard from the sales man? is it important also that the video card is high? I went to a store yesterday and I didn't want to buy yet but there were so many to chose from and I don't want to end up regretting buying the wrong laptop. thank you for your opinion br3ndy, it helped me

Well if you have a "big" budget then it would make everything easier ^_^. For gaming laptop there are some specs requirements you need to look for and they all must be the best one also very expensive ^^. The first is memory RAm like i said before. The second is the graphic card like you asked. The higher the graphic card version is the better it will be for gaming. That newest version graphic card usually is a must for playing newer games with high graphics these days. So if you want to make sure you can play all the new game for a very long time, then choose the best graphic card as possible. The third is the processor, choose the better processor too for the best gaming experience. I dont know about other brand, but i use Intel Core i7 for my laptop and for now it is the best processor from Intel. The fourth is the HDD. Well this is not really that important since there are many external HDD in the market. But if you could, choose the bigest HDD inventory space too since you will need it to keep all your game. But if you don't mind using a HDD external then it is fine too. Other than four specs i mention above is the most important one for gaming laptop, other than that is up to your liking. Besides, other specs like bluethooth, DVD writer, etc can be replaced with external one. Hope my "long" explanations can help you more ^_^

My dear friend i'am an expert in IT and yet i don't have the exact response. You see notebooks and their technologies are just as wide and as big as a continent. But i can tell you that: if you're looking for a multimedia notebook then you probably got to check it's processor and graphics card as well as it's screen. But if you're looking for an 'office' laptop then you have to check the keyboard and trackpad at the first place. Here's a site my friend that can help you a lot in your research it gives every notebook a rating according to wich you can judge if the machine is usefull or not. Basically everything above 80% is good. http://www.notebookcheck.net/

What kind of processor or what particular processor should i take note of. and what do you mean by graphic card? is it the same as video card or something? what should be the value of a graphic that i should pick? sorry really have no idea about computers.

Not knowing your budget or the costs in your country, I would recommend you buy a branded computer for the reliability. The brands already mentioned are good except I am not to happy with Dell usually the cheapest of the brands but tend to have more failures in my experience. At present I use a Toshiba Satellite L500-19x purchased 3 years ago its been good. Toshiba load their computers with lots of extras that are not needed and tend to make them run a bit slower. Most of these extras can be removed and this makes a lot of difference. Get the best guarantees you can with your purchase. If is going to go wrong it will probably be in the first year or at the end of it's life usually about 5 years. Best of luck with your choice, you pay your money and make your choice.

I would highly recommend a Toshiba. But if you are looking for the best make sure you check the performance ratings before! Make sure they fit your liking's because there are many categories in the performance ratings.
