Hi there fellow mylotters.
It's been a while since I've been around here. So long, in fact, that I had to make a new account as I cannot remember the previous one :)
And what better way to rejoin mylot if not through a new discussion?
Today I am asking you what clothes brands you cannot live without? I have to say I am not the brand freak but there are a few that are a must.
And since I started the discussion, I think it's only fair that I go first :)
So, I cannot live without:
- my red CONVERSE All Stars - I may have as many shoes, these will always by my favourite footwear
- my blue BENCH hoodie - keeps me warm and looks really great
- my LEVIS jeans - there are no better jeans in the world
- my NIKE t-shirts - quality and looks, you can't ask for more :)
Not a lot, but I love these 4 brands. I am starting to get a crush on SuperDry as well, I'll just have to wait and see how it develops.
Your turn now :)

Oh I did not slave to brands.
not that I do not like them simply can not afford to buy designer clothes.
because I have a few designer clothes but slaves of those clothes.
I love all their clothes and enjoy.
nice day!

I'm not really into brands. although I am very fond of Vollers corsets and Vivien of Holloway 50s style dresses.
but I don't judge clothes by their tags. the brand name is only on the inside after all (at least on clothes that aren't tacky) I judge them by how much I like the individual garment.
although I would like to be able to afford some Vivienne Westwood (simply because I love the cut and style of her clothes. the tailoring is beautiful) or some Biba as the styles are vintage and elegant.

I admit I buy stuff from trusted brands, but it doesn't mean I'm brand-conscious. There are just those brands that I've been buying for a long time and I've been satisfied with. For the things I wear, especially shoes, I really look at the brands since I go for both durability and fashion, and only a few brands for me satisfy that criteria of mine. I admit though that almost all are foreign brands, even if they're manufactured in my country.

My motto is to buy the best. Best not as in the best rated brand or any such. I try to optimize my spend. So, I try to balance a few factors like price, comfort wear and reliability.
As for price, I don't like to bear costs of big brand marketing, display and status tag. This is obviously saying I am not a fan of great international brands simply because I don't splurge. Even if I had some excess budget some time, I would rather use it for my own benefit in terms of more value for the same amount.
I have a background in textiles & garments so, I can identify characteristics that make for comfort wear. I want to feel easy & comfortable in my clothing.
I go for branded stuff simply to be sure that the manufacturer puts credibility at stake and not merely as anonymous. The fact that modest brands do care for their reputation & long term presence in the market gives me comfort when deciding to use them. In such cases, I don't simply get driven by factors like cheap, get additional free etc. Because in the end, I what I bring home may be products that don't last too long and I'm a person that believes I don't buy every third day.

I can't say that I can't live without some brand, I can say I love some brands more then other simply because they are more suitable for me.
I like to buy CONVERSE All Stars like you, DISEL, Adiddas etc.
Brand does not have influence will I buy something or not, only thing that matter is do I feel comfortable to wear something or not.

I can't say that I can't live without this brands but I can say that they are my favorite brand of clothing. Like you, I really like Levi's. The fit and the color of their jeans are awesome. Plus, the quality of the jeans is great. For sports apparel, I am into Adidas. Cheaper and still with quality compared to Nike. I also like Rebook. Sebago shoes are also great and I love Skechers for my non-sports shoes.
