I observed that taking photo of kid is really hard to do since they always moving around and rarely pose in steady position. This will make us difficult to get focus and sharp pictures of them. I usually will ask them to look for something or take candid photo while they are doing something calm. I always use rapid or sports mode which available in my digital camera to get maximum result or as fast shutter speed as possible. How about you? Do you have any special tips on how to shot best pictures of kid?

hi there omchesunche,
i do love photography as this is one of the thing that i got busy with. and being engaged in this line, i do love to take pictures in different subject.
with reference to your topic, perhaps it will be best if you can ready your camera along with a tripod. then try to focus it for a while on other views as if that is your subject to capture. if you wish to get a picture while they are playing, just have your camera focus on other thing, in this way, kids will just carry on what they are doing or even continue to play around and will not be conscious to look on you. hence, this is your time to take a great shot while they are doing their activity.
in addition, if you want to capture a great post of them, you may also set the camera on a tripod then you may request the kids to pose in a count of 1-2-3. thru this way, you can easily press the shutter button unlike if you are holding it and cannot put a full control on the camera plus on the subject. since your hand is busy holding the camera. and if your hand is busy on that, you cannot guide the kids on how to do the pose that you want.
just have the perseverance in taking pictures especially if your subject is moving. try to take at least 8 shots of each pose, you can choose the best shot when you are viewing it on a much wide screen. hence, please be open minded that some pictures might be blurred since you have taken/capture them while it is moving.

I agree with you. Kids concentration should be somewhere else and also our camera's view should go near the Kid so that we can take photo when required.

hello,
Yeah, my brother which is 6 years old hardly cant pose in steady position because when something attract him he will just laugh and go to that place which is really hard to get a best shot. I think we cant control them especially if there are so many destruction in their surrounding.

Yes it is quite difficult to take a picture is the subject has plenty of movement. I guess you are doing it right taking multiple shots. But if you have a camera where you can control the shutter speed then that would certainly be a plus since you can freeze the action and take out the blur. For as long as you have a good light, then shutter speed is not a problem. Well, I am not an expert on photography, but that is what I usually do and it works for me.

Indeed taking picture to kids is too difficult because of some destruction or tricks that a kids do during the pictorial. In my experience i set my camera in an scene of capturing fast-moving action without blurring, yet some of the shots are not good, but often, i took a lot of pictures to my kid with different pose and select the best shot.

To shoot a best picture of a kid, we must have in our camera, "zooming". The zooming should be very powerful so as to focus the kid from a distant, to get his/her face, smiling and beautiful expressions. The kid should not know that we are photographing him/her. Then only the expressions will be good but we must have good patience.

I sometimes use the sports mode on my camera or i try to stay patient and just try to keep the kid looking at the camers. To do that i will sometimes make them laugh.

oh I love taking photos of kids, I like to try to capture the innocense and natural beauty of the young, yes it can be hard they are like jumping beans and get bored with someone taking photos of them unless they are natural born little posers, sometimes if you keep showing them the results on screen they become interested.

Just like taking photos of kids, it's also difficult for a barber to get kids to be still for a while, lest their ear will be pierced instead while having their haircut.
Though i am not into taking photos of kids, i think it would be best to give them a motivation, like "i will give you a candy, if you will not move for 3 minutes".

I take pictures of my children all the time. I make sure to show them the picture after every few takes that way they can see and don't get bored so easily. Sometimes, I'll give them a big thing of bubbles and some sticks to make bubbles through and then I'll go sit in the yard and snap pictures while they play with bubbles. Same thing for when they climb trees. I'll let them get up there and start taking pictures and they turn out super good.
