I want to commend you in your desire to get to know God. Have you tried getting down on your knees and having a heart to heart talk with God. Tell Him that you want to believe in Him but need some kind of personal proof that He exists and cares for you?
I wish you success!
John 7:28 J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)
28-29 Then Jesus, in the middle of his teaching, called out in the Temple, “So you know me and know where I have come from? But I have not come of my own accord; I am sent by one who is true and you do not know him! I do know him, because I come from him and he has sent me here.”

@ cliff19id... Your reply may be worded that way because English is not your first language and if that is the case then disregard this rely.
You say that you 'have told God' and really one should request of God and not tell him anything. He knows us through and through. As Bluedoll pointed out, with God we need to show humility and also honesty and a genuine desire. While God can do anything, He will examine our motives before He listens to us. Genuineness and love for Him will get a response beyond our wildest dreams.

If we want to know for the purpose of being convinced then I would say that this is respectable pursuit.
If we have made up our mind that we do not want to believe (this would probably apply to just about anything you want to have a belief in) as a skeptic will, then would it be reasonable to expect that we will not be pursuing that end? – please say if this does not make sense ok.
On the other hand if we are sincere in finding out something we will open our minds and our hearts to the possibility.
We can not taunt God into something. What I mean by this is we can not tell God what to do or trick God into doing something we desire but we can ask and keep asking with a sincere heart and most of all we need to show on our part a little faith so that we can find what we seek and will?

Yes, God is real. I have lost almost all of my family, that's one reason I know he is real.Just look at the beauty of the trees, grass, and us.God wants us to come to him for anything. I have prayed and trusted in God through many trials of my life, and God has always come through. In the bible it says you have to have faith, even if we can't see the physical results that we are use to seeing.

It's great you want to know God. I've looked at some of your responses. I see you ponder a bit about divisions in "Christianity." To find God, you might have to do what I did, make a vast difference between religion and Christ Himself. I was never truly satisfied until the night I surrendered my life to Christ and invited Him within to dwell.
Another thing that might help is try not to set goals as how to meet God, like the way Moses did. The New Testament points out one is to walk by faith, not by sight. Yet, that faith is not blind faith, and not just head faith.
Let me ask you this. When you do something wrong, does it bother your conscience, at least a little? That could be God's way of speaking to you.
How about when you do something good for someone? Does that make you feel good? Same thing.

but dividing the Christian Faith Religion to a different kinds of approach, lessons, objectives, ideas, listen to only Pope, Priest, Nuns, Pastors, Founders, etc... are the ultimate reason to not to understand God very well....
that if we only unite our religion to concentrate to only one path, one road, one destination, and majority wins, we can understand very, we can understand more about God, and God will simply reveal Himself to all of us for the none-believers to testify that God is true...
what is the reason why we still keep on subdividing our Christian Religion?
is it for Business?
Politics?
Fame and to be a new well known founder or leader?
or want to be "Next to God"????
if Roman Catholics are the first compare to all Christian Religions, why not all Christian Religions go back to Roman Catholic in Faith Religion?
is it hard to go back to where we all belongs?
we Filipino's have a common sayings:
"Those people who can't look back to where they came from, they can't continue go on to their destination"
for sure....

I think God will look after the issue of being divided.
It is difficult to understand God, who can say they understand God completely? I’ve looked for answers within myself as well. Why do I want to know God? Really, I need to ask this of myself and give an honest answer. If I can not be honest with myself, who could I be honest with?
In wanting to know God, if I consider God is like my dad, I can relate to how I can approach, to talk to, to ask of and to understand. When my dad was alive I did honestly respect and trust his judgements. If I disagreed, I still was respectful. I really feel sad if people come from broken or abusive homes because they can not easily relate to this.

You have taken a step forward to know God. You have asked. You will not see God with your eyes obviously because God is a spirit. You can see the works of God and have an understanding about God. If you have a desire and are willing to pray you can. It is not merely a logical journey. You need to open your heart. If you are sincere you will.

There is no way to know God is real. You should concentrate on living your life and live the best out of it. Don't put hope that God will help you or anything. Because there is no solid proof of his existence.

this simply means that if only God exists....
Christian Religions should never be divided their faith to a tons of different kinds of Christian religions....
so to make the story summarized, there is no leader that can lead his follower to one army....
there is no leader, no general, no president, no king, that is the reason why the follower, member, soldiers, devotees, are all subdivided to a tons of different Christian Religions....
that is the reason why i believe in the existence of God but i don't believe what the Holy Bible Says, but i only show respect and understand that it is only a type of book like Koran, Fung Sui, Company Rules, Country's Constitution, Swimming Lesson's Do's and Dont's....
Let's unite all Christian Religions into ONE, and for sure, i will change... i will believe in the holy bible...

God is real and the proof are already known and just some people don't know it and not realize that God is exist and real because of pride, not willing to know because Satan confuse them in real world..It is hard to believe something that we can't see or touch (I Cor. 2:14).
What proof that God is real or exist. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Gen. 1:1).God exist already before the world was made or everything. When this world was not created yet the form was empty,or void..
And people ,or who does not believe God will say that there is no God or exist etc..Psa. 14:1, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."...There are many proof about God does exist and working silently ,and you may not feel it or see but God is there..
Satan a great destroyer, and confuse people to not believe God...There is God ,and watching over us on earth,He is there and powerful one...
