Our country, Philippines have changed our money several times already. The government changed the design of our bills and coins. I didn’t keep any of the old money but when husband went home with an old money I decided to keep it like a remembrance. I know some people who are into collecting different denomination of money from different countries, are you like that too? Do you keep old money of your own country?

Hi, i think it is ok to keep some old money as remembrance, just don't overdo it. Anyway, keeping too much useless money is meaningless. Some people hope one day they can make a profit from them, i don't believe that. Therefore, keeping too much older money is a only a waste of money. Just keep several paper moneys with different paper value as a remembrance.

Yeah, i'm keeping old notes from my old country because they do appreciate in value as years goes by. It's not too late for u to start collecting them now because by time your children grows by, they should be of some substantial value. Due to the shortage of those old notes, coins circulating around, that's what makes it valuable. U can actually take a look at their "market" value ebay, if u are interested.. haha

Hi red! I used to collect old money but I've lost all I've collected so I stopped. I do have some "special" bills which I don't plan on using. Like a 100 bill with the Oblation logo that commemorates UP's 100th year of foundation. I'm a UP graduate so I thought it would be nice and a show of loyalty to have that bill. I also have a 20 bill with the logo of.. I think that was micro-insurance of micro-finance or something. It doesn't have any relation to me but I thought it was nice.

Yes. We have saved some of it when we come across it. I have some that my dad saved also. He passed away and my mom handed it down to me.

I don't keep old banknotes. Although the old banknotes seem to be worth much more after some time. But it doesn't mean anything since you will not keep more of the old banknotes. It can make you rich anyway. The banknotes collectors are interested in some special old banknotes. Such as they have a special number on it and so on. I love China

I can't say that I really do keep old money. I used to do so, but it's been a while since I've had any.

I'm not a collector but I keep some old currencies for remembrance too. Although the previous designs are still easy to find, it would be nice to keep them before they're out of circulation. I like keeping the old 10 peso bill. I also have some old coins like the square 1 cent lapu-lapu (or sampaguita?), the octagon 2 peso, the old 1 peso coins, the 50 cent coin, butterfly 25 cent, and a few more. It's nice to keep them and reminisce (I feel old, hahaha )

Here in our house we've got a lot of old coins. I can still remember those days that I use them in buying something from a store and also this is the money that used to be my allowance. Now I am keeping new coins which are shiny. I love to collect them. I could use them in the future.

In india , money doesn't change much ..... but still old money never exists for more than 5 years after introducing new money . Moreover all the denominations are not changed at the same time . Only one thing is changed at the same time . So it doesn't make a big difference here .

I have a few coins and bills from each of the countries i have visited. I do not keep a ton, nor do I keep the old bills from my country. They seem to change the design of one bill or another every few years, not to mention the coins like the 50 state Quarters.

I do have a few of them but nowadays they are very rare to find. I have them ranging from late 60s to late 70s when the Kenyan currency was changed to new ones. Sometimes people go around buying old money in higher values and many people sell theirs but mine are for my own prestige, I have no plans for selling them unless soemone comes with a good price for them
