I have read that some employers have mandated that all employees
get the flu shot...How can they do that? I also read in a report
from a Dr. Brownstein that "every vaccine you take causes inflammation
of the brain".
Do we need our employer or Big Brother mandating we take a vaccine?

I think that flu is not a serious illness and not get the shot of it as I am well with it. I didn't take a shot to relieve myself. I have ever been injected several times seriously not for the flu reason, but because I was in a very pain illness. I got more than enough shot for my life. So, I wouldn't waste my money for the flu shot.

sijabatnaburjut, I agree with you. But it's stated in all media sources that it is needed. I don't think so. I had the flu once about 20 years ago, and haven't had it or the shot since then. Have a good day.

Where I work, we're offered free shots, but they're not mandatory. The first year I worked there, I had the shots taken. The results were bad for me. First, the side effects after a few days - a bit feverish and the pain in my arm was really bad. Second, I noticed that instead of making me less prone to flu, I noticed that I was getting more sickly. So the next year and thereafter, I no longer took the shots.

Yes, they said that it was normal to have side effects for the next few days. In my case, though, I became more sickly for the entire year. I guess that's why I never took the shot again.

I wouldn't like that at all, I don't like getting needles, infact years ago we had a legionaires scare where I worked and staff ere going to get vacinated but I usually faint when I get injections so I refused to have one and I also said not only do I not want a needle but I also do not want to be sitting next to anyone that has one as the smell makes me sick, I have a very weal stomach when it comes to medical anything, well I did in those days, I am a bit better these days...I have never had a flu shot I just prefer to stay away from people when they have flu symptoms, but then I don't hardly ever even get a cold.

I am not interested in getting the flu shot. As the flu will be different every year. And having the flu shot can't guarantee you not to have the flu. I don't think it is very necessary to have this shot. After all, all kinds of medicines have side effects. Why not do more sports and have a stronger body? This will be the best way to avoid flu.
I love China

I was given it for free from my school district. I am a teacher and while I have a pretty healthy immune system, and try to keep up with disinfecting things in the classroom, kids still wipe their noses or sneeze in their hands and then touch me. I have had a respiratory infection but not the influenza. There is a teacher who did get the flu and she missed 3 and half days, and even when she came back was tired and run down.

Yes asyria, I understand your purpose for getting that
flu shot..Those little ones seem to always have a cold
sneezing, coughing, runny noses..I sometimes wonder if
one who deals with this type of surroundings will make
it through the winter with getting sick..

They should not be allowed to force their employees to get the flu shot. They should have the freedom to refused it if they so wish. I have never had the flu shot as far as I know and I have never had the flu as far as I can remember. I say why fix it if it's not broken.

It depends on what the employment is. I have had employers provide it for free, but not require it, on the other hand, I do take it whenever I am offered, because I know what it feels like to have the flu, and I do not want to feel that way again. It feels like you are being ripped apart, bones and joints, with a saw cutting through your head and a fever hot enough to boil you. Out of respect for my patients in nursing homes and clients in special needs programs, I get the flu shot. Secondary infections that come after the flu kill you. I do not see that it is a good idea to require someone if they have a totally opposed point of view.

We were able to get them at work like two weeks ago. I don't ever get one. There is no reason to. I never get the flu. Never! I am always having sinsus problems that lead to sinus infections! So there is no reason to get a flu shot I don't need.

I have a flu shot every year for protection. It does me good. Several of my companions in the house had flu but I never have one. If the company mandates for all for prevention of health illnesses, why not? It's actually a protection for both parties.
I haven't read the article you are saying yet. But if they cause some inflammation of the brain it is temporary I think because it is reacting to the foreign body and later would build up its immunity to it.

My previous job gave a flu shot out each year for free. Working at the hospital, it was a good thing to have. You didn't have to take it though, it was your choice.
I always chose NOT to take the shot mainly because every time I've ever taken it I get the symptoms really bad, and I don't like that. They always tell me that I wont get the flu if I have the shot done, but the symptoms I get always feel like the flu and make me miserable.

Employees are indeed receiving flu vaccine for free. That is a good thing! I wonder how a vaccine can cause a brain swell. Can you tell me? As far as I know, it is given to help us be immune with the disease. I haven't heard of such thing.

bjc66, That's a big fat NO! Actually they can't but they are doing it. Until recently, I worked for a hospital where this year it wasn't mandatory, but one of the facilities within the main company is implementing it as a pilot program. They did a survey previous to this pilot program just to get feedback. It seems that the facility that scored the least on resistance to the shot started the pilot. They stated that next year it will be mandatory at all facilities. Fact is it's actually assault and they have no right to force it. OSHA states that if you have consumed, inhaled, etc. due to the work atmosphere you have the right to leave with pay and be put on workman's comp. There are harmful chemicals in that vaccine in addition to brain inflammation as you stated and the execs. at the top know it. I designed a letter stating these and many more facts to use if I needed if they tried to force it on me but didn't stick around long enough to need it.
