How many of you have overclocked(Overclocking is the process of operating a computer component at a higher clock rate -more clock cycles per second- than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer) your PCs?.
Have u installed a new cooling system?.
I am planning to overclock both CPU and GPU. I have a 2 year old one Intel E6300 and GeForce 8600 GT. I am able to play most of the games i wished to. So no plans to upgrade, just a overclock will push for another year, that is my hope. Any advice?

Thank YOu so much fro really breaking it down. I always had questions about this. Overclock this overclock that..... Finnally. SO it's about pushing your pc to it's limit??? to get it used to the workload- it couldn't handle unless it was overclocked? Like breaking in a pair of new shoes or something? And I have two heat sink fans on my unit plus the normal fans in the back, how many would an overclocked unit have in it?

I never overclocking my computer because it force our computer to work too hard and can be damage our hardware if the system is not stable. I like standard or normal speed without any risk.

Overclocking is good if you know what you'r doing read up on it more before you do it and if you can get better fans.I overclocked my old videocard and it worked fine for over year and a half before it gave up on me.May be i did somthing wrong but don't be afrait to try it yourself. Good Luck :)
