Some companies are allowing their employees to work from home or other parts of the world.
The current technology allows it.
Many of us are using our personal time to work online too.
Do you think more people will work online in the future?
Do you think working from home is a good idea for you?

hi there scheng1,
for sure, if the pay is right, more and more will work online. as this type of work is not that stressful. aside from that, you can be allowed to work on another thing if you can budget your time and allocate it properly. as now a days, you must be a versatile person so you can able to earn really that much.
well, for me, working from home is a great one. and i am really looking forward to have more ways of earnings via online.

Hi Airasheila, it is not about quitting your full time job for online work.
Many companies are getting their staff to work from home, so that they do not need to rent so much office space.
I think the trend is towards cutting cost, including cutting cost on office space, and that more people have to work from home.
It used to be that all managers have their own office space.
Now managers are not always in the office, and they just need to carry their laptop, Ipad and other accessories, and they can work anywhere they want.

Hi Sjlskl, actually from the experience of those working from home, the opposite is true.
They dare not slack, and they work more than in the office.
Since they are afraid that their bosses think of them as slacking at home, they are constantly at work.
They reply emails very promptly, and they do the reports very fast.
In the end, they end up working far too long hours at home.
The risk of work taking over their lives is very real.

Definitely it is yes. The information technology has made so many impossible things before possible today. One of the things is working online just like you and me. I think many years before, there were no or very few online jobs for us. Now more and more jobs available for us.
With the development of information technology, so many jobs can move into home, and people can choose do it in daytime or at night as they wish and time clock. Well, i think working online to earn some extra money is a great idea for me. But if let me choose working at home or office, i think i 'd choose in office, you know, i am already a lazy person, if i don't need go out every day, then i will become more lazy and sluttery.

Hi Aprilsong, yes, that is true.
Some people just do not have the discipline to work from home.
They find it hard to get started when they do not see others working.
Some people just want to have a feel of the atmosphere in the office, and the chance to talk to their colleagues.
I think working from home for just a few days a month is good enough.
If not, it can really get too bored for most of us.

Yes,the traditional mode of work is that the staff must work at the time and place which the boss provided.it's very passive for those who want the free survival.but working online solves this problem.it canceled the work of time and space constraints.I think it's the best way for people who need a job to survival.

Hi Li123456li, yes, you are right.
Most of us tend to work harder when we are at home working online.
After all, we are using our own resources, and there are many things to do at home.
When at work, we tend to work slower so that we can work longer hours.
Some bosses like to see their employees coming early but go home late.
They do not really care how much work the employees do.
Working at home will definitely solve this problem.

From a business standpoint its a win-win. You set someone up to work from home, sure there would be costs associated with that, but cutting out a commute for an employee is like giving them a raise without having to financially pay more out on a regular basis. I wish more companies supported telecommuting. It just seems like everybody wins. Company gets happier employees, company doesn't have to shell out more for a raise and there's less cars on the road.

Hi LiveRockdie, companies benefit too, since they do not have to pay for so much office space.
if each company rents half the space, then the cost of business will definitely go down.
Some companies need to pay for a few parking lots for the employees too.
They can save even more when parking lots are no longer needed
I think they can even afford to subsidize the utility of the employees who work from home.
Granted that many jobs, such as those cashiers in the supermarkets, need to work at a certain location, most admin people can work anywhere.

hi scheng yes I really do as a lot of companies now that I know
of let their employees work at home online and they check in
every day,get what they are to do, and it works great. my
own son did that for several years for this small company.
the three owners however refused to upgrade their computer
equipment and then my son had to play repair person plus
work partly at home.so he found another computer programing
job and worked almost entirely at home.

Hi Hatley, glad to hear that your son manages to find such a wonderful job that allows him flexibility.
I think that is great for family man, since he can take care of his kids while still working.
However, it must be very boring to work from home all the time.
Most of us need some interaction with our colleagues in order to feel that we belong.

Scheng, i am sure more and more people will be interested to work online in future since it is very promising way of earning. As for me, at this moment i am still staying with my online jobs although the pay is not really that good. But, at least it is helping me out a little. If one day i am able to find some local office works that allow me to work from home, i surely will take it. Because it surely will pays much better than my other online jobs. But, so far i haven't came across any local office jobs, which allow their staffs to work from home.

Hi Myfb, over here, we have some recruitment agencies that pay commission, and they hire housewives to work from home.
Since the job is basically screening resumes and then forward to the company, the recruiter does not need to work in a certain location.
I think those computer programmers can work from home too.
Too bad we do not have such skills.
Maybe you can learn investing, and then stay home to trade shares!
That is the ultimate work from home job!

I too, believe that working online has become more popular. I've seen many great points on here. I think that one of the fears some of us have when venturing out to work online, is the legitimacy factor. For those who are new to the whole concept of working online, it becomes a real concern. There are so many scams out there to be aware of. On the other hand, as long as we use common sense and keep our financial institutions to ourselves, we can enjoy researching all the information that's out there. I would love to find a decent online job, unfortunately I'm one of the ones new to the concept.

Hi Sylerbo, most of us tend to think from our points of view as employees or freelancers.
However, the push for working online actually comes from the employers.
if they can get half their people to work from home or alternate arrangement for office sharing, then they can cut down on office rental.
Some companies are doing that.
Like 2 persons taking turn coming to office, and working from home.
Instead of providing two tables, the company can cut cost by providing one table, and they can share.

Hi Sylerbo, maybe you do not have experience of seeing people working from home before.
The wife of my cousin is working from home, since she is an accountant, and her job is mainly financial reporting.
She can just draw the data, and then work from home.
Over here, bosses in some companies work from home too.
They do not have to stay in the office, since their hours are quite odd.
They have to fly frequently, and entertain clients at night.
However, many people still need to travel to a workplace in order to work.
Impossible to think of the cashier working from home!

Hi Scheng1,
Yes, I see what you mean, I hope to someday think from either one of those perspectives:) I guess since the line of work I've been in doesn't allow for us to work from home, it has me thinking from a more cautionary standpoint.
It certainly makes sense why more firms, companies, etc..are doing things this way. As you pointed out, it does save on expenses. And I'm sure those who are lucky enough to be chosen to work at home are loving it. I can just see when it came about, people eagerly raising their hands, pick me! lol..no I'm just being silly.
