Are you stuck at home with no transportation?

Are you stuck at home for some reason? Is it because you don't have a car or some other reason? I'm stuck at home much of the time but especially at night because I have no car. I have no way to get anywhere except walk and it is to dangerous to go out and walk late at night. And I don't live in a good location that is a close walking distance to downtown or neat places to go. So I'm up at night on the internet or I can watch TV. What is making things worse is it is getting very cold out. I suppose I could read a book but I'd soon just read stuff on the internet. I'm not young nor am I that old; I feel like I'm missing out on enjoying life. Anybody feel the way I do?

Hi thedateminer, That is not a good feeling to feel stuck at
home...Fortunately I am not in that position right now but
I certainly have been a couple of times in my life...Like when
my car was in the shop for just two day..But because it a habit
to have an idea and head to the car and it wasn' there..Boy
did I miss that transportation..
Its just another thing, for those who have a car, who take it
for granted until its not there.
But my dear just because you don't have a car doesn't classify
you as being old...Just stop it!!!!! lol...Don't you have any
friends.?..if not make some. You can't be that isolated.. Enjoy
your life while you can my dear...You want be able for always.

What exactly you like to do at night?
I am home every day, every night. No matter if it's dark or light, summer or winter.
But I guess this is normal for a mother?
I don't feel the need to go out. I like to be at home and am busy with all the things I like to do.
I also always thought the night is to get some night rest? So what you describe has nothing to be with being stucked at home (the biggest part of the people on this world is at home at night or after a certain time) but with the fact you don't feel comfortable at your own place (home).

I'm not thrilled with my place I live at but I can cope with it. But I would like to live closer to downtown or close to restaurants that would be a short walking distance. That way if my son and I needed to get out of the house at night we could.

I know exactly how you feel. I miss having my car and it is hard for me to do a lot of walking because of pain in my feet and legs. I do go out because of my daughter but we don't do near what I would do if we had a car. Most of the time I cannot even get to the grocery store because I have to walk so far from the bus stop and I cannot carry a lot of items. I also know how you feel as far as age.... I am around the same age but feel I am missing out on many things. I see so many people much older than me doing more and going places. It really gets me down sometimes, but I keep hoping it will get better.

Hi again my friend, I sent you a friend invite; I know you probably been busy. I'm sorry you're not in a good situation either it seems. I'm sorry you have pain in your feet. You said you suffer migraines. Me to. For a week or more I've had this horrible cold that just wants to hang on. And I got this bad cough but funny thing is my migraines have temporarily seized; I just don't get it. I was taking cold medicine until I ran out. I usually get the tmj migraines (pain in my temples) upon waking up daily or even waking up from a nap but not for near on a week or maybe just 5 days since I had a migraine. I can relate. I know I'm missing out on allot and it really gets me down in the dumps. Like you I just hope things change for the better. I hope that for many of us out there.

Luckily, I am staying on an area where there is no tool of transportation found e.g public bus, scooter, taxi, and the other. There was not such things on the area I am staying. The only transportation is allowed to get operated is horse wooden carriage, locally known as Cidomo ( Horse cart ). All facility can be reached on foot and are far walking distance only. I also am staying in a company mess here and it's only second walkaway from the company. If you want to get out the island, you should take a public boat or ferries that take you 30 minutes away to the mainland.

I am a person who doesn't have much money background. Due to this simple reason I don't own a vehicle. It is almost 5km distance to go to town. I think it is very difficult to cover such a long distance. I was stuck into my home when I was having an bus strike in my locality. I was not able to go any where including for my job. It is very difficult to cover such a long distance on walk. So I did not go any where. So I was settled to my home.

Yes, I understand you completely.
i live in a small town that is close to the capital and close to other big cities but I got no car (or license) so I always depend on my dad or someone else driving me there and can't go at night.Maybe I should just get a license haha
