Recently, I find myself watching movies that I have already seen before. Last weekend, I watched Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse because I want to recall the story before I watch Breaking Dawn. Right now, I am watching Slumdog Millionaire because I've seen it the rental shop and I know that I liked it the last time I've seen it so I borrowed it again.
Watching the a movie several times is not new to me. When I want my class to watch something, I'd usually watch it at home first then have them watch it the next day. Since I have 4 classes, I'd be seeing the movie four times. When I was still a kid, I'd watch a Disney video many times up to the point that I could recite the lines of the characters themselves.
How about you? How many times do you watch a favorite movie?

Wow, kapil11, I love shaolin soccer and kung fu hustle too! I think I've seen them 4 or 5 times. And now that you've reminded me of them, I might watch them again during Christmas break.

Yeah, I also think its a good thing because when I tell the story to your friends, I tell it better when I remember even the minute details.

My baby is only 1 year old so its really difficult for us to communicate well. But when the time comes, maybe I should try out what you did with your daughter.

It's fun when you can recite from memory the lines of the characters. My daughter and I sometimes play a game. I will recite some lines from her favorite cartoons then she'd guess the title of the cartoon. When she guesses it right, then it's her turn to recite some lines and I'd guess them back.

I always like to repeat seeing a very nice movie.
Some good movies i have seen are , Mr. & Mrs. Smith, FaceOff and one movie of Gina Davis, wherein she lost her memory and she discovered little by little that she was once an assasin!
I also like the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings! Classic indeed!

I think the title of that movie is Kiss the Night (or Day? ) Goodbye.
Another one good movie, worth watching repeatedly if Taken.

I've seen Taken twice. I want my students to watch this too. If only we have the time to watch this, then I would surely give it to them as a movie review material.

Hi I am a lot like you too. I like watching the movies I love over and over again. I recently spend my whole Sunday watching the LOTR trilogy in one stretch!! Thats like 11 hours straight. I usaully do the same for Matrix trilogy as once I get in the mood I want to watch the whole series again fully.
I also like watching some favourite scenes from movies over and over again. For instance in the movie Seven I just love the climax and the scene where John Doe comes to the police HQ to surrender. I must have watched those scenes a thousand times.
So I do this a lot and really enjoy it adn I am sure you will start enjotying it too

The Matrix is one of the movies I surely miss to watch. I think I'd watch it again some time soon. I just love their concept. It also reminds me of a more recent film Inception. The LOTR is also a favorite. I like sci-fi and fantasy flicks.

I was inclined to say fantasy but on second thought... hmmm... It really depends on the story. The story is what really counts for me. If it made an impact, then I'll watch it again and again.

Bro I have found a like mind. But as for inception I just loved the story , the concept and the film a lot but the only thing that I dint like was this.. For instance in the matrix if you die you die in real life.. The stakes are high! But in inception in the dream world if you die you just wake up. I found that a little lame.. BTW which are your favorite sci-fi and fantasy films?

hahaha... I do the same you know, and since you mentioned twilight saga movies, I actually have seen them a couple of times, it must be 5 times or more..lol.. I even joined a twilight site when it was a new hype because I was addicted to the book.. Anyway,I have watched this movie, a bollywood film that my boyfriend suggested and the title is "3 idiots." I bet a lot of people here knows the film, but I was only able to watch it this year when he suggested it to me, and I really found the movie so great that I have watched it so many times and I am even dragging friends to watch it with me on my laptop. And if you'll ask when was the last time that i watched it, it was just last Saturday while we were having lunch. Its just a movie that is really great and never fails to make me laugh and remember my great buddies when i was in high school and now that i am in college.. ;-)

I've seen the 3 Idiots as well. I watched it three times. I had a hard time looking for a copy with a good subtitle. I actually learned about this movie in my MA class and got interested in it. After seeing the film, I just couldn't stop myself from sharing it with my co-teachers. Two thumbs up for 3 Idiots!

You'd be surprised how we get new views/ideas from watching it again. I heard from a colleague that whenever she watches Paranormal she sees something new in the movie that she has not noticed before. Spooky (O.o)

I have watched my two favourite movies about 10 times each. what I do to avoid getting bored of doing it, is watching it with friends, different groups of friends every time. So I always enjoy watching it. My favourite movies are by the way, "The Craft" and "It".

If I like a ceratian movie, I don't mind watching it several times. It is alla bout the quality of the movie and I still enjoy all those comics, Tom&Jerry etc which I had seen during my child hood. Classics like Titanic are there which no one can say that he would not like to watch another time.

I think Tom and Jerry is a classic. I have seen some episodes when I was still young(er) and now my daughter watches it too. I still see it from time to time. It's interesting how it can attract even mature audience in spite of it not having much dialogue.

I don't like to watch any movies over and over. I may watch one twice, but usually just once. I don't buy dvd's for that reason.

Yes, I like to watch movies that I have seen before, perhaps more than once, but I tend to do this about a year after I first watched, that way, I have forgotten most of it, and can enjoy it all over again. I tend to buy them from Amazon and Ebay second hand. I rarely buy them from stored when they first come out as they are soo expensive. _Derek
