Quite confusing !!! Everyone of us has its own way of expressing base on their personal communication or relationship with God. How do we know that it is God's will or that it is indeed the will of God. Someone ask me that same question when we share our christian fellowship in our place. He don't know or rather don't have any idea how to identify the will of God since the decision will be made up by ourselves alone. HMMM... intriguing? any idea?
For me, in every situation that flows in my life, i would consider it as God's will if everything is smooth, no walls, no ill-feelings attached at the end of the work. I say, if the situation ends up smoothly, easily and perfectly. But if the situations are destructible, unjustifiable, unperfect, and so many uneasiness suddenly occurs that means it is not the will of God but my will.
If ever i have doubts i consider it not God's will. What about you? what can you say about it?

Hi cassije,
When I am faced with a situation, my mind will automatically resolve for a solution. After considering all the available options, it will come up with the best and the most reasonable decision. On the other hand, my heart will follow its intuition which is the ability to acquire knowledge without any kind of inference or the use of reason.
Unlike my mind which always sort for a rational decision, my heart always tells me the right thing to do. This is where I find God. He speaks to us through our intuitions and always points the right direction. All we need to do is, open our heart and mind to the Lord of Light. Let Him in and sit at the throne of our heart. If one can do this with personal purity, all the good things in life will follow.

Oh yeah! julianmac, well said, God communicates us through the heart. He often speaks to us to our heart and points us with good and right decision and relates his will to us.
I believe, God answers best on how pure your heart is and by knowing how good your intention will be.
We can only know Him if we have a personal relationship with HIM. We must open our hearts and minds so He will be able to enter and give his direction and path for us to lead.
Thanks.. happy day.

It's God's will, that everyone has 'free will!'We are living this life to experience God's gift of free will. If there were any strings attached it would not be free will. When we experience free will we have to take what comes along. No matter what the problems are they are God given! Situations of destruction, imperfection, and uneasiness, and all examples of God given Free Will.

hi barehugs! Thanks for your sharing too
Yes, God allow us to experience to use our free will because that is the only thing that he cannot control since HE drove ADAM and EVE away from the garden because of disobedience.
And this destruction, imperfection and uneasiness i say is the result of our disobedience to him because of His given FREE WILL. Every actions lies consequences, responsibilities and success.

A couple of comments about your criteria for recognizing God's will. These are just a couple of thoughts to supplement what you said - I do not intend to be critical. When we are trying to determine if a certain path is God's will, we pray and then we hope to have a sense of peace about the decision. It is reasonable to expect that God will calm our hearts and give us a sense of peace that we are walking in His will.
Once the decision is made, we cannot rule out the possibility that going down the 'right' path may result in difficult and stressful times for a while. Sometimes when we feel God pointing us in a certain direction, we must rely on Him because we see a lot of unknowns ahead of us.
As far as other people finding the will of God, we may not be able to determine. This we know - if they are choosing a path that violtes God's expressed will in His Word, then we know it is not God's will.
For all those other times - if the decision does not violate God's word, then our best solution is to pray for that person, that they are truly understanding the will of God. We can look at people making decisions we would never make, and not have any ability to judge if they are really choosing God's will. Suppose they are wrong. As long as the sincere longing of their heart is to obey God and please Him, then He will get them back on the straight and narrow path.

Hi djbtol! Yeah, exactly God will calm our hearts and give us a sense of peace by knowing His will.
Our choice is our great responsibility. Yes, i believe prayer is our best remedy if ever we fail on our decision making.
great opinion djb! any decision that does not violate God's word is one way to know God's will. So in that case it means that ignorant of God's word is like ignorant of His will too.
I remember one time, when we had our fellowship too, that a new believer said he accepted Christ but still had not submitting himself. He was confused in what way and how to submit himself? and i remember one thing ! does He knows the word of God. In other words, does he read Bible so that he will have a guide material to know the words. Sad to say, that he don't have. In short, we give a bible for him as a reference of his continuing faith and the last time i heard he already submit Christ as his personal savior.
I am happy for him and i know God is more happier than me of course !

All bad and evil that your perception says is all but will of god. There is nothing that good had happened or bad is going to happen , If its good then thats it its his gift ..If its bad then its a preparing you for something good thats happening !!

Oh ! you mean good and bad comes from the will of God? isn't it confusing? which way to choose? and why do we seek his will then if both of it comes from Him? I see now, guess i understand why some people still seek for the will of God because they don't want to suffer their actions in the end or maybe take extra careful not to commit mistakes for the second time. They firmly believe that knowing the will of God will give total smoothness of the situations and no regrets after all.
Your perception amuse me! Thanks for sharing Sonia.
