Hello Friends
Its bit long since I hadn't make any discussion.. Lets make one now.
I am having some problem in my desktop computer. Every time I am starting my desktop computer its clock showing the correct time. But just after few minutes clock's time gets changing automatically. Then I need to set it again and after that its working fine till I shut down it and start computer again.
Can anyone tell me who is having problem with my computer's clock?? I mean what can be reason behind it ?? Is it because of some virus??
Well, my desktop computer is too old. So something unusual is always expected. But this is really annoying to set time every time because my some online applications not starting because of wrong timing. So hope anyone can help me to get out of this !!

There must be an extra terrestrial in your house. Better check around if there is any spaceship in your backyard.

Hi akp
Open up the cabinet and on the motherboard you will find a battery. Change that. It will fix the issues.
Then when you think the time is perfect, send me the chocos.

Hey sid.. I already thought about it.. But still isn't checked it. Because problem is coming just after few minutes after I connect it to my internet connection. Otherwise its working just fine. That's why I thought its not related to battery. But may be.. Well let me check that and I will tell you about it.

I think that the battery inside the CPU may be weak. I think replacing those batteries will really help you to solve those problem.

Dupremo is right.. And I already tell you Jlyn.. that my dad will slam me if I do something more bad with that computer.. Coz he is the one who spent most of the time with that computer.
@wonderboy... Well I hadn't tried it but it look like its not a battery problem.. But I will try this too.

If this problem is not related with battery than there should be some way to solve except reinstalling the whole os. Yes reinstalling is the best option to come out from all the problems. But still this one is minor.. If i will get some bigger problem than only I will go for it.

welcome back to mylot computer discussion.. :-) well have you check your computer clock is not getting sync with any other site or application? because it may be possible that it gets sync with any services and change.. first check in clock setting that it doesn't set to sync..

If the date and time are correct when you start then it is not the mobo battery
Make sure you have the correct time zone set for your location.
If that is ok then you may well have a virus. Try to restore your PC to a date before you had these problems.
Run a check on your registry with a program like Euing Registry Cleaner.
Finally, place the box on a railway line and wait for an express!

Aaaargh! I waded through two pages of replies, saw no mention of zone time and started my reply. Missed owlwings reply on the very next page! haha
Anyway, glad you are sorted.

Thank god I don't have to go for the last option now..
Just as you mentioned owlwings also mentioned about setting time zone. And I just followed it and problem got solved. So no need to go for railway station now..
But you have mentioned some good points above. Such problems can arrive for these reasons.

Change your battery cell on your motherboard. you said it is too old than you might have not changed it. The battery should be changed regularly. I am currently living with a discharge battery which is very bad for me. Every time I switch on my desktop the computer clock starts the time with 12 am no matter what time it is out of the computer.

Hi
Whatever you have mentioned about your computer is surely related to battery. But about my problem , my computer was showing the perfect time when it started... but just after connecting it to internet time was getting changed... The problem was it was set to different time zone. I just adjust it (with the help of owlwings response above in this page) and now its working just fine.

try to change your CMOS Battery, open up the computer case and motherboard, it's there.
If it's not working, try synchronizing your time to windows.
Maybe you have stopped the services use to synchronize, go to services.msc and find
Windows Time, set it to Automatic
