Let us read the lives of great men, very few rose up from their status of well being. Majority of great men rose up from great difficulty. If we read the childhood of great men often they looked as a failure, either in the school or at family. Most of the people have not been understood during their lives but after their death was cast the sweat fragrance of their good deeds like a pleasant purfume
Even among the living generation today, most of the adults have been enjoying a good status, thanks to the enormous sacrifice made by the parents. Many have reached the zenith of great accomplishment today, but if we go to enquire the lives of their parents and grandparents, we may hear about undescribable sufferings undergone during their time.
During the war time the families had lost almost everything and they had starved, but today their children have accomplished great things. So suffering is not a hurdle. If man determines to accomplish something, then he withstands all the difficulties with firm determination and attains the goal.
Those who fall victims of depression due to great self pity, if they have a goal to live for somebody to contribute something noble to the society, then from that very condition, they are able to rise up because deep within man there is something devine, and when we tap to our deep inner self it will reveal its power to us and spontaniously we rise up. This is human greatness and he is the likeness and image of God.

If one overcomes a great obstacle, then one gains confidence to face all the problems life throws up.Many great people have faced great trials and tribulations in their life, yet with perseverance and ingenuity they have overcome them.Great people who have contributed immensely to the benefit of mankind haven't been understood during their life time. But their deeds have showed us a path to tread.Their success was not without failure, yet they strove for the welfare of their fellow beings. Many today as you have aptly put are well placed in life due to the sacrifice of their parents and fore fathers.Failure and obstacles for great people were the stepping stones for success.Suffering holds back many but if the mind is firm and determined than one can overcome such setbacks.Try and try again till you succeed should the determinant of those who aspire for great deeds. Those who fall victim to self pity and depression can elevate their lives if they have a goal to aspire for or have responsibility thrust on them.I accept your view that there is divinity in each of us and if we realize this divinity or our deeper self then we can soar high as we are endowed with greatness being made in the image and likeness of God.Hope you have a great day.

For every sacrifice or suffering made, there is a prize. In life, there are ups and downs. This ups and downs determines your capacity as a person. On how long will you be able to survive in this very complicated world. Those who stands up from being down will be the one to joyfully receive success in life. Remember that God gives us no problem that we can't solve. God is there to guide us in our path.

Great men or great women? Already since ages women fight in wars (even pretending they are men). Many great people never went to school or were never accepted because they found them not good enough.
It's the "weird" people, the ones we don't find normal who made the difference in history and who will make the difference in the future.
And it doesn't matter if you had parents who sacraficed something for you, sent you to school or do understand you.
