My mothers husband had surgery yesterday. He had a bypass. I thought you could only have a bypass in your heart but apparently not. He had a bypass in both of his femoral arteries in his legs. HE NOW has a pulse in both legs thank goodness!
He came out of surgery okay but to put it mildly didn't come out of anesthesia too good. They took his breathing tube out and he started freaking out and going crazy which made his Oxygen level drop bad so they had to sedate him and put the tub back in. That was at 10 a.m. yesterday. They kept trying to take the tube out with no luck BUT they were finally able to get the tube out yesterday at about 5 p.m. and now his Oxygen levels are stabilized and his Blood Pressure is better!
He couldn't get the surgery that he really need which involved going in and cleaning out all of his veins from his waist down because his body was in to bad of shape. The doctor said the surgery he DID have could last anywhere from 1 day to 5 years. THEN he will have to have the major surgery.
So I'm asking for prayers. It's going to be a long recovery for him and I'm hoping the surgery lasts about 5 years that way his body can get stronger where he can have the other surgery. His chances of surviving that surgery was only like 20% or so.

Thank you sweetie! and Thanks for saying a prayer for his recovery. I spoke with my mom today and she said they had him up walking around and his legs didn't go numb so thats great! Before the surgery he has NO blood circulation in one of his legs. The doctors checked and he had no pulse in that leg at all. But now, he does! So far so good! He suppose to go home tomorrow morning!

Thank you! I spoke to my mother today and she said that they had him up walking around and his legs were not going numb which means he still has blood flowing to them. THANK God! Before one of his legs had no blood circulation at all.
He should be coming home tomorrow morning early.
