Pleasure & Pain?

No because if you only ever experience pleasure, you will only know pleasure and won't appreciate it. But if you experience pain, you will appreciate pleasure and it will be better.

I think that they go hand in hand actually. It will always be the case for the greatest majority of people that they feel some pain with the pleasure, i.e. you are very happy with your partner but then one day they say something to wound you. That is pleasure at first and then some pain, even if it is only temporary. :)

Are we talking in general? Because I don't think we could really appreciate pleasure if we never experience pain. Same goes for everything.
