Does my ability to dress well mean anything?

I'm not trying to Toot my own horn, but as a musician I personally think that I dress well but very... alternatively... Does this mean anything to girls? Will my slight pea-cocking and odd style choices be off putting at all? Because most girls dont even seem to notice it, so why should I even do it?

You said you dress well, then you said you dress odd, so I'm not sure which one it is. It definitely is something that girls notice though. Dressing well can make an unattractive guy, a lot more attractive. Dressing badly can also make someone look worse. Girls notice these things for sure! Even when they don't say anything about it.

I am a bit confused with what you said. You dressed well, yet you are a bit odd? When you say alternatively , does it mean odd dressing, like it's garish?

I know HOW to dress well, and I do, I just add things that are more linked to my rock music like a Top Hat or a particular belt or necklace. Odds and ends that I find in quirky stores mostly.

yes this is very nice to be able to dress up because you know the clothes and meet in the mind forward.
proceed as it is very nice because you have your own style and it helps in many situations.
I am glad that I can respond to this discussion.
nice day!

I think that the way of dressing and different kinds of dressing doesn't play much role in girls but still they have some. The way of thinking, the way of talking, the way of walking and others determine the perosnality. Girls used to notice these characters to undestand some one. So you should be very careful at these things.

Musicians are expected to dress well and I am sure most girls notice this. Have you ever imagined Steven Tyler in plain T-Shirts and jeans on his performances?Clothes do make a musician stand apart from the ordinary people. If you are on stage you owe it to the audience to be dressed up. Girls do notice you but they might be shy or insecure around you? May be you look so aloof in your ways that they think you are a snob or something? When you are dressing up in your own style, you find pleasure in it, don't you? If it gives you some confidence and self esteem, then it's about enough reason for you to do as you want. Sooner or later you will find some girl going for you and not necessarily because she was attracted by the way you dress yourself up.

The way I see it, since the birth of the Rock and Roll era, popular musicians have been dressing in unique styles as a means of distinguishing themselves, and I don't think it's a coincidence that every truly legendary Rock musician has an iconic style most associated with them. For example...Elvis and his Rockabilly style...the slicked hair; the sideburns; the flash drape style coats; the baggy pants and so on; and what about the Beatles and their Mod style suits and moptop hairstyles? They were brilliantly marketed. What about Bob Dylan? Sure...he was no teen idol; but he was still visually unique, with those dark curls worn high on his handsome head; and the sunglasses that lent such an aura of mystery and cool, also favoured in the late '60s by legendary crooner Scott Walker. In a later era, you have Michael Jackson, and his single silver lame glove; his white socks and loafer style shoes...his image is unforgettable. The same applies to so many music idols...Sinatra...Jagger...Hendrix...Joplin...Bowie...Prince...Cobain...I'm not saying it's a good thing; simply that if a musician wants to make a real mark...image seems to be little short of vital. Many might object and say it's all about the music; and for some it may well be. But for many of the most legendary acts and artists of all time, both music and visual appeal have been important.

A guy that dress well means nothing to me. I love the way my husband dresses. He dresses like a punk most days when he's not working. I love the look because it's him.
