What is the Best Christmas Present You Ever Made?

We spent so much money on Christmas gifts that sometimes aren't even appreciated. Have you ever made gifts for family and friends? If so what's the best, or favorite, present you've made with your own hands?
Personally, I love receiving homemade jams or flavored butter. And all the ingredients of a cake, or special bread in a pretty glass mason jar with homemade labels. LOVE it. I'm learning to make those this year since we've had such a plentiful harvest of fruit from our garden. How 'bout you? Would you try something homemade for Christmas?

I made an assortment of cookies and fudge one year and gave it to friends. They really enjoyed it and I got no sick reports. lol It costs so much anymore to buy the ingredients that I have given up on doing much cooking from scratch. I am lucky to get the processed.

My kids love baking with their Oma (grandma)--cookies, rum cakes and all sorts of baked goods. Happy Christmas memories. The price of eggs and other ingredients does make it an expensive project. This economy isn't helping. But our gifts of cookie bags now have a lot of M & M's and other fillers.

I think the best thing I made was a special teddy bear for a friend but in the days I used to make all mt paper tole cards I did get a few very good remarks and infact I know one lady always has that card on her mantle every year.

I once made a wall calender for my grandmother. I decorated it with photos and drawings and added the birthdays and other important days. She was very happy to receive it and she often look at the photos. Last year I also made my own present for her and I gave her a notebook that I filled with photos of her family. Some years ago I made a notebook for a friend. I filled it with quotes, poems, drawings, photos and other things. I have made different presents over the years, but I guess my favourite one is the wall calender that I made for my grandmother. This year I have made a papercut for my mother, but aside from that I haven't really had the time to make my own presents this year.

Those sound wonderful and very cool. I guess it would take a long time. Probably a project to start in summer. But very well worth it.

I haven't think of it. I am planning that this Christmas will be special. I want to prepare something for my mom and dad. I still don't know what will it be. I hope it is something that I can say that the best Christmas present I have ever made.

Oh you'll find out what to do. And your mom and dad will love it because you made it. You should ask the MyLot community for ideas. I'm sure they'll give you plenty of good advice.

I don't have a creative mind to do those things, that's why for every occasion I just something for a present. Nut, I appreciate a homemade presents. The best was when some made a card for me out of used folders and paper scrap. It was so good and you can't even recognize that it was from used materials.

Appreciating a wonderful thought-out homemade gift is what makes it worthwhile to make. I really do love receiving handmade Christmas cards. They're awesome.

I crocheted a bed jacket once for my sister in law's mother. They both raved about it, and it made me feel good that I could make something nice for someone. She just about wore it out, as she was in and out of hospitals a lot, especially towards the end of her life. I like making gifts for people who like to receive handmade or home made gifts. Some people don't like them, so I'm selective about who I give them to. You'd be surprised at how snooty some people are when they get a handmade gift, sheesh.

Wow, what a cherished gift. And I know about those snooty people. Quite a shame, I say, that they can't appreciate a handmade gift. Nothing we can do about it though.

The best Christmas gift perhaps that of whom have the greatest need.
each time to have at Christmas time to buy gifts is still much better if we know some of our close what he needs and if you have an opportunity to buy it.
So he'll just feel valued and will be enjoyable.
interesting discussion.
nice day!
