I do some buying beforehand and many of my gifts and homemade jams and chutneys. Fortunatly I donĀ“t have any birthdays this month. My hardest months are June and October as birthdays go. I like to give a nice birthday present and only a little something to the small kids for Christmas.

It is so very true. December does seem to be a very expensive month. It's definitely not an easy month to go through. But somehow I think most people manage to make it through. It's a challenge, but I like to think that it always works out.

You right, friend. This month is an expensive month. Money is hard to find but it easy to lost it... I don't know how to manage expenses this month...Earnings is no longer sufficient paying bills alone... Hope we are all millionaire to buy everything we need in this world hehe

December is always a hard financial month for everyone. But the crazy thing is that every time we turn around, there is always either a holiday or a birthday to spend money on.

Your predicament, as well as of most of the people fooled by the roman catholic church in its teaching of christmas and new year that are not within the Biblical teachings of Christianity, is very normal these days. Your and other peoples' view of these traditions of the catholic church has been taken advantage of businessmen to incite you and others to wanton spending in the guise of sharing and gift-giving. satan has also taken advantage of such tradition to take your belief away from the truth contained in the Bible.

Yes, December is an expensive month, I think for many people, but it's always been that way for me as it is an expectation. I remember a few years ago I agreed with my family that we would not buy presents just cards, to make it cheaper for all of us. But that didn't last, somebody started to buy presents and the next thing I knew we were all buying presents again. I guess I have resigned myself to it now, but what I have found is that if I start looking and buying things around August time, it doesn' have to be so expensive in December. It is just a matter of remembering to do this, and my memory isn't very good and some years I forget completely. But who wants to think about Xmas in the warmth of the summer? I don't that's for sure! _Derek

My savings now remains USD100. I can't spend it as I like. I must save for a rainy day so that after new year I can save for Chinese New Year.

Well, seeing as I don't have work right now, I really don't have much to spend. So I try not to look at things that I want to give away as gifts for Christmas. I love giving gifts to my friends and family, but sadly, this year, it looks like I won't get to do that.

I accumulate credit card points throughout the year, and use those points to pay for the holidays. I also try and accumulate my online earnings. besides Christmas, and my daughter's birthday in december, my husband and mines car insurance is due. That is a $600 dollar expense. We set aside a bit every month for the insurance, but still writing that check is not a fun feeling.

December offers a lot of occasions for us. With that, we have to spend money! Money is used to buy food and other things needed for the celebration. Maybe we should get ready financially for the coming of the month of December. In that way, we prepare our selves to all the expenses.

you're right,December is an expensive month for people. Lots of them are going to provinces to meet their loved ones. proper budget of expenses should be the way to celebrate this Christmas season. watch out for things that has an alternative and will save you some bucks.

You don't have to spend all your money, you can let people know how much you care for them with a card or something that can be redeemed later. Everything seems to be more expensive during the holidays but everything is on sale, hmmmm. I would set aside some money for gifts and entertainment and then stick with it.

Hi Asliah, I also feel the pinch, since Chinese New Year is just a month later. I think the festive seasons are all coming together, and there is no way to avoid spending money. My mother is having her birthday in December too. We are going to a short trip after New Year, since December is a very expensive month to travel. All these cost money. But creating memory is more important. I think thirty years later, all we have are memories of our parents. So I do not mind spending more money now, just to have time to get together and share happy moments.

Wow,so much and great reason to celebrate the month of December. Yah,it sounds expensive and money spending for you but worth it right? Besides, this comes only once in a year. I will save more for this special month

Make it 3-in-1, asliah :) Christmas is I think the most expensive holiday of the year. It's like saving and earning money for 11 months then spend it in just one month (December). But I guess we could always try to spend wisely especially now that everything is expensive. Just keep some reserve just in case someone will give you a surprise visit and say "Merry christmas, ninang (godmother)!" :D I'm sure you are expecting that, lucky you if you have 5 or more godchildren. Merry Christmas!

Oh this December is terribly expensive. especially for me. with us starting from the sixth month of December. with us here then we have two St. Nicholas Name List and then buy gifts on December 9, Saint Anne is one of my aunt and said so again present. then on December 21, my birthday again and spending the other rural festivals. very expensive but very nice holiday. Worse is that when you do not get money and you can not buy everything you want. success. I will have money to earn them alone and to do great expense because it is currently not working and I will be hard but we must think positively. nice day!
