hi friends i am little bit confused so i want to discuss a matter that how many time for study is sufficient .i spend 8 hours daily on study .6 hours in school and 2 hours at home .but some students take tutions but i think it is useless and i do not take it how much you spend on study ?
in most of the schools all the year students study same study material but i do not like it i think all the students have to learn new things daily
what about you?

yes my friend agree with you it is all depend upon your concentration and brain power some students can learn and pick up fastly then others and other who do not able for this take tutions and also take more time for study .i think we make our study habits like to make our pick up power fast.

I think there is no specific amount of study time. It depends on you on how you will be budgeting your time. One advice is that you study during the times that you feel active.

When i was at school i did not study almost at all , i normally get it by just listening it from the teacher and the things i did not get like literature i tried and spended whole days to try to get but it was just not for me it was impossible to get . Well at least i passed even with the lowest grade in literature . The math came natural to me , i was missing most of the time from class and never study , and at the end i was with excelent score , even entered collage with it :)
but for the rest i needed at least to listen to get what i know :)
Study was useless for me .

by reading this i got one thongs very easily that your mind are so fast some students spend 4 hours after their school to get passed and you do not study and get passed by only listening the teachers and understand their lectures .yes your mind are truly sharp.

I'm a student too in my final year of high school and I'm prepping up for my major final exams next year which will determine my fate in which career I will do and which university I will be going into. Australia adopts a ranking system in which these exams and your performance at school compared to everyone else determines your rank in the whole state. So it does put a lot of pressure on students. I wouldn't call school time as study though because you're being taught, not studying your notes. Also, you need to count your breaks too and the time you spend jigging in class I usually do about 1-2 hours of study, sometimes less than that if I'm not bothered but my maths teacher expected me to study at least 5 hours at home. My eyes almost dropped out o my sockets! I don't even have that time at home as it takes an hour for me to get home from school. I get extra tuition too because sometimes stuff taught at school aren't as good or explained properly compared to tutoring. It tends to be way faster and more detailed with well qualified teachers. There are some teachers at my school who can't even teach.

hi friend if you are final year student then 2-3 hours a day is very important for you .yes sometime tutions are very necessary to understand a matter because we do not understand by teachers and then discuss about it in tutions is a good idea .best of luck for your exams.

Depend upon the student or their mind we cant say particular time for study. 6 hours is sufficient but some students habit is full year study but some are only last month study depend upon the student skill.

yes some students like me do not spend time on study daily and only study in one month before examination and get good grades and yes it is based upon student skill how quickly he learns new things and some students study 4 hours daily only for getting passed.

yes angelcoool we have to spend more time in our collage life to make our future batter and i think 4 hours a day is very good for you and i am at school so i think that 2 hours are enough for me.because collage study is more tough than school study.and require more time.

It really depends on your learning style. you have to know your medium of learning is it audio which is by listening or visual which is by reading. Based on that the time spent will be based. if you learn faster when reading then read, if by listening then just listen to you professor and your set. Others are both, they need to hear the lesson and read it.

yes neriz learning style is most important matter for this if you learn not easily you require more time and on the other hand if you learn easily then only two hours are enough.and it is also depend upon our concentration on study because without this we can not study even 8 hours spend a day.

The time to master a lesson is subjective. It depends much upon eachone's receptive capacity. As you said, you may get annoyed to go through the matter again and again. You may simply get irritated. If you do your homework all by yourself, that itself is a study and rivision. Then you need to make some points with graphic designs which is a short cut method to score marks concretely according to value points rather than filling up the answer paper vague and writing useless or round about notes without touching the core. Our psyche takes up its own speed. You study your lessons daily, do the homework and gather the points in graphic design. The before a month read text, notes points and highlight the points by coloring. During examination interval again just go through all the matter that you have, notes, text points as you feel necessary. Before you go to bed you finish the portion and go to bed not later than midnight. In the morning, go through all the points. An hour before the exam, put aside everything, be calm you will succeed.

yes srjc most of the students get annoyed for studying same things again and again .if we study with great concentration for 2 hours a day so i think this is enough .in these two hours we have to do our home work and spend this time for revision and making notes.

If you had paid good attention to your lectures in school then 1-2 hours a day would be sufficient as you have mentioned that your exams are after 2 months....Instead if you haven't paid attention to your lectures then you better study 4-6 hours a day at home in addition to your study at school...Personally i used to study 1-2 hours a day and my parents used to send me to a private tutor..

In my opinion, i guess it should be twelve! (12 hours) people now a days don't study very well. They actually do it in the school or in online teaching. and when their professor was not there their chattering and take a nap. I know this because my classmates are to lazy to do this ^^,
Hope there is a reform for this matter.

yes now a days students do not take the study seriously and they chat at the time of study in school and at home they do not even open their books and this is a matter of shame .i think 12 hours a day is very good for study and yes we all want improvement in this matter.

when i was a student,i spent 9-12 hours studying my lessons everyday. The peak time to study is when the final exams were approaching. you need to study harder in order to get good grades. i'm working right now for almost 8 months and i missed my former schoolmates.

studying for two hours is enough daily provided u revise evrything taught to u in d school on that day.do not leave any back log. besides that, tutions are not necessary. u dont need to spend double time on d same study material. instead u shouls utilize ur time in developing ur intersts.

As I my exams are approaching, I think this is the ideal time to discuss about it.
Well I have made a study time-table and I make sure I take a 10 minutes break every 90 minutes. I think 7-8 to hours of study during exams and approximately 2 hours a day otherwise is sufficient.
Regards,
Narthan

I think that we are all different when it comes to the amount of time we spend in study. I need to take a lot of time, but that could be because I am getting older now and my mind doesn't take things in as quickly as it did when I was in fulltime education. I remember though I did spend time in school and then lots at home and I was learning piano so I was always studying something apart from time at weekend when I got to go out with friends. Yet, some school friends would hardly study at all, and yet still get high grades in exams.. Also, I guess it is about the level of interest you have in a subject as you will learn something you are really interested in much faster. _Derek

Before I begin to study my lesson at 7 PM till 1 AM. I don't know that is sufficient for me to review because calculus really hard for me to learn...so I need more time to study calculus...
Most people said 1 hour is enough to study at home. But that is not enough if your taking up engineering course...

Depends on how much you want to learn, and how much you want to succeed. To a lesser extent it depends on how smart you are.
If you just are a smart person, you can deal with less study than other people.
However, for most of us, it simply depends on how driven you are to succeed. More study, the better off you'll be in the long run.

hello, though I am not a school or collage students. But I am sharing here my views. I also never like tutions. I believe in self study. Regarding time of study, it is differ for person to person. For some one 2 hour self study is enough and for some one 4 hour is not enough. So if you are satisfied with you performance than time is not a matter.

hi ashu, It is important for you to understand the subject matter and you should be able to answer a question out of that subject in what time? How much you score with your current study timing/ pattern? Are you a topper? Do you feel if you work a little harder you can do wonders??? On an average, children do study as per the 'need of the hour'. If you have an exam the next day and if you are fully prepared, you don't worry but if you revise the subjects thoroughly then there are chances of scoring high with better percentage. How well you grasp the studies and represent them in your answer sheet is more important than the time spent on studies.
My children 14 & 10 never can sit for hours and study. My son learns fast but a slow writer (he is in std. V) and my daughter (is in 9th now) don't want to read the chapters but try to solve the Q&A...that makes her do spelling mistakes. Oh, when i was a student (still i am planning to pursue emba)i was an average one and used to be happy if i get pass marks.. but now the times are changing as well as the education systems... so make sure to work hard/smart to reach your goal. Best wishes.
