Earlier this morning when i woke up, the first question that comes to my mind is whether to go or not to go?. I'm talking about wheter i should be in the office or just stay there at my bed and give myself a day off and a nice rest....
Actually, this is not the first time i had that question in my mind thinking if i should go in the office or not. This Past few months, i always had this idea of forwarding my resignation paper, but the idea of leaving the people inside the company is a hearthache. I am planning on doing it on the month of January, next year.
What would you chose if you were in my situation? find a better company were i can be happy or stay in this sad place but being with the few people i cared for?
let me know. :)

I understand how you feel about the situation. I know how it feels like. THere are lot of reasons why you want to leave the company and one of them is the management itself. I know you don't like how do they treat people. They are really unfair.
Since we are best of friend and you are like a brother to me, it is really painful to me that you are leaving the company. We've been going out every weekeened to release the stress that we have. And it is really sad that we will be doing that very seldom already if your gone. We don't know if we can sync our schedule but I'm looking forward to that.
Seeing you happy also makes me happy. Even its hard for me to see my bestfriend and brother to leave, I have to sacrifice for his own happiness.

I'm still looking forward that your mind will still change since you've something that you will be somehow be relax or a place where you can get to express your feelings, emotions and point of view. I still hope that you get to stay.it is really hard to let go a person that you know that give smile in your face everyday. a person who is there for you when you are in trouble. and you are that person my bestfriend, my brother.

you are one of the reason why i still stay in the company, why i am still doing the best i can to finish the job. i also know that you are pissed right now because of some irregularity inside the management, and thank you, because at last you understand my flee and now had the reason to go with what i really want in my life. don't worry, i will still find time for us to have some night outs and hangouts like we did every weekend. =)

nothing will change bez, i'm still your bestfriend. i am actually happy when you told me before that i cause the smile on the face of everyone in the office, but you know in the first place that the manager and i were not really in good terms, that's basically the reason why the whole management doesn't want me in this company just to get along with the flow and you're the only one in the management who would still sit beside me.
Hey, will you stay at your positions you are in right now in the management? i think they need a few good people out there, maybe you can change them.

thanks for the advice, i made a wise decision to post something here about frustrations that i had in the management/office. though i thought about those things, maybe all i need is to hear/read those words from someone else.

Welcome to mylot Nightshade
When working with a stressful job what matters most is- the people around us.
As long as you are happy with your mates (teammates) stay.
I resigned from my previous job due to that reason.
I am not happy with my environment- too much pressure and my teammates are giving me more pressure since I am the newbie among them.

i have been at the company for more than two years now and those few people i am talking about are the only reasons why i still stay in the company, i remember one calling me "The Mentor" in the office and i really am proud of her of what she is in right now.
i am still deciding whether who has the most bearing, whether to stay at this office, i am happy working with those people yes but not with the job anymore OR to find other opportunities that would make me happy not just with the people but with the job itself, although its a risk that i have to take but if i dont do something different change will not occur.

WEll, you better make plans, and try to browse the company of your choice in case you really eager to make a move to leave. besides, can you just leave it to next year? it's christmas season, it would be sad for you to do permanent leave on the holidays. there are people who cared for you and that's IMPORTANT. chances of looking for a happy going working environment is relatively slim. . remember to pray for wisdom in making the right decision, our advice ain't worth if you can't make it up yourself

Hi there Letranknight25!
i am planning on leaving the office hopefully by January, but that's still tentative timeframe. i would still need to make a choice, because it's a risk that i will take, not that i am not confident of myself but i am not a risk taker by nature.
yes, prayer is always present, specially in my current state and hoping that i would come up with the best possible solutions and ended up happy.

hi NS,
Welcome to mylot
Welll I am kind of person who let go of something that is no longer makes me happy if you think you have a choice then leave this current job and take a risk of finding one if you are worried about the people who cares for you there for sure you can still see each other even you are not in that same company anymore.
keep on posting
happy mylotting

Good point and if i may add that you can also see the "True People" inside the office once you were out of the company, if they would still be willing to contact you just to see you.

you are right, actually i am seeing that right now concidering my percentage i had last month, i did passed but the score is unusual to my usual performance.
the only thing that keeps me in this company are the FEW people that keeps on saying that i should stay in this company, saying that nowadays it would be hard to find another job in another company. Honestly, the only reason i stay happy and going in this office is the people, not the work and definitely not the management that i'm in right now. but dont get me wrong, im still doing the best i can to get my job done at the end of the day.

hi nightshade welcome t o mylot. You are new. wow. You know you can still know all the friends you made there and keep in touch, b ut if you really are not happy there its eventually going to make you less efficient and could even get you laid off. I would resign and look
for a job where you could be ha pier as the friends you leave behind can still be your f riends out of work. working in misery i s just no fun and it can be self defeating too. good luck and God Bless

Hi Hatley, i was planning on applying/looking for a job first before i resigned, to make sure that before i got out of this office i will have something to look forward to. You are right, you can leave the people in a place but that doesn't change the fact that they were still your friends and they have been part of your life. This is just one of the chapter's of my life that i'll be reading in the near future. take care and God Bless as well!

Good day Nightshade13,
Honestly, I was in the same situation before. That, it was last February of this year when I have think of resigning from my job. That, it was during the last quarter of 2010, I have had the same feeling as you are feeling right now. Having some feeling of hesitancy, whether I will go to the office or not. That there are days, I really feel so lazy going to work, that I do not want to be awake just for the sake of going to the office. Until that month of February 2011 came, that I really need to come up into a decision, either it will break me for ever or make my coming days really fine. It is either make or break in my life and in my career. That I need to choose between the two situation. Until one fine day of April 3, an answer pop-up to my mind, I choose to file my resignation. To tell you the truth, I was so happy that time. That, I have feel the true meaning of joy. That, I was like a bird released from the cage.
And in your situation, I would rather choose to look and find another job wherein you can be happy. After all, we are working for our own good and satisfaction. For us to handle our life in a right and proper manner. But if we are working and getting a terrible amount of stress from it, then, it is not worth keeping for. Not worthy for us to spend our time to work. Thus, those few people you really cared for will still be there even you have find another work. As, communication will still connect a bridge for you to care for them.

Hello Nightshade13,
Indeed it is true, your decision will either make or break you. But do not be discourage by the idea of competition between applicants. Hence, if you are competent that you can land on another job then, that will be enough for you to have an advantage to the new applicants. Another thing, don't put your happiness at stake, for sure you can look for another opportunity that can give you satisfaction and the true meaning of joy. Sometimes, nervousness leads us to nowhere and we end up in regrets. Follow your heart and pray a lot. For sure, whatever your decision is, that is the will of our Lord God Almighty.

Hi airashiela, Good day! honestly i wanted to cry while reading your respond, i said to myself that at least i got one good decision i made yesterday and that is posting my current feelings and i am greatful for all the responses i had so far. i had the same feelings as yours, that if i decided to pass my resignation it will make me or break me and nowadays competition is so high between co-applicants.
But maybe if i follow the 'rainbow' path i will find the 'pot of gold' i was looking for, i'll just need to change my direction.

before saying or giving any suggestion i would love to say that i am basically a student.
But if I were in your situation, I would definitely leave the company or a job if I have got some other better chance. If you have worked enough, then please do take rest and enjoy the remaining part of life.
I too never want to miss my friends here in the college. But after schooling, we got new friends when we were in 11th and 12th standard and the same when we started our professional course. So new friends come in in the journey of life. So never give up a journey that always has comforted you.
You can get them in contact through phones, online media, or through weekend parties.
Hope it was useful and may god bless you with all the right thoughts in choosing a right path. ,.......

i have never ever abused any one. I do not know why you mentioned it like that. "if you have worked hard enough..." means that if you are( or others in the same position are) old enough......... Do not take it in the like way and i am extremely sorry if it hurted anyone......truly and frankly here we are for enjoying the time and i do not think i have crossed my limits.......... Happy mylotting....

You need to listen to your heart. You should calculate on what's more important for you. To leave the company and be happy or to stay with few people you cared for. But if you're really having a hard time staying in that company. You'd better leave. You must prioritize what will make you happier. You need to decide it when you're not in a bad mood. Making a decision in that time is really not a good idea. You need to think it deeply.

Hi Rusale, actually i've been thingking about it a couple months ago already, but i still have the thing i called 'bewilderment' in deciding what is really good form me and i am still weighing things down, who has the most worth, if staying at the office with few people i cared for or finding a nice office to stay where i could be happy.

What would I do? Knowing that I am my first priority, I would choose to take care of myself first. I would rather be friends with a select few and work for a different company than to stay with the same company and be miserable from all the lies, backstabbing, and mentally cruelty. My family deserves me to be happy, so I can be there to take care of them when they need me to be. Your friends are your friends, and if they are true friends they would want you to be happy no matter what company you work for. There is no division of loyalties when it comes to personal happiness.

Hello Arieles,
very well said, true i don't want to live in a place full of lies and be miserable for the next year or so and yes i experience a lot of backstabbing in this office, maybe its a normal custom here in the office but for me it's not normal and i'm not fond of doing that myself. what i really don't like about this place is the "crab mentality" of the people here, they're going to ruined your image just so they could have the benefits to take with them. and yes, i guess i should prioritize personal happiness.

Not to long ago I was in that same situation where I was not happy with the company that I worked for but I really enjoyed the people I work with.We all had the same feelings about the place so we could vent to each other.I eventually did leave the company and I am now working at a company that is more laid back and I am happy there.I remember what an instructor I had at school said once "you are not married to a job,if you are not happy there leave."Something is wrong if you just want to stay in bed and not go to work.I mean, the people that you work with will still be your friends. Why not find a place you will be happy to go to work and visit your friends at your old place of employment? If you are asking the question of weather you should go into work,it is probably a real good sign that you should start looking elsewhere for employment.I know this because I used to ask that very question every day.

Hi Nightshade13
Never be afraid to try. just make it sure first that you will be happy before moving to the next company. try to weigh things first. I know I don't have to discuss all these things to you. i know how you move. i know how you decide in life. you don't easily move unless you are sure of it. i will always support you on all your decisions.

Hello Jules, you got it right, i always ask the same question almost everyday, seems like i still have to find reason's before going at the office and good for you at least after you decided to leave the company you were able to find a better one.
i'm not being pessimistic, however, life doesn't always end what you have planned, it's a risk i have to take, but on the other hand if i don't take that risk that "change" i'm looking for will never occur.

Hi Nightshade 13,I definitely agree with you that life doesnt always work out as planned.I had definitely thought about leaving the company for along time, and the fact that I did and when I did was definitely not planned.I just kept in my mind it was time to move on and start another chapter in my life. I am definitely not an opptimistic person by nature, and I dont deal with change or new things very well.Unfortunately you do have to take risks to know what you are capable of.Have confidence in your self and I wish you good luck and best wishes for whatever you decide.

Hello heartmiss, i think the problem now is not with myself, there's actually a lot of people here at the office complaining about the management, the work itself, etc. i will re-think if i'm the only one who had this feelings is just me, however, i heard a lot of complains from my colleagues having the same issue as me, so i think the change that should occur is not within the people under rank in file position but within the management. let me know your thoughts.

Hi there,
I hope you are not experiencing the symptoms of depression. The reason why I tell you this is because I had experienced just like what you did in the past. When I woke up in the morning I often thought about not going to work. I even took several medical leaves just because I didn't feel like showing up in the office!
Most people won't feel troubled to go to office because there is nothing to worry about. If you are having this dilemma I suggest that you go and have a check with your doctor before sending the resignation letter. It would be such a loss if you resign without knowing why you are feeling not motivated to work. I have many friends who are having depression too, and this is a normal condition and everybody can get it from time to time. It can be cleared by taking anti-depressants and if you don't want to take medications there are many natural treatments you can use such as doing Yoga, meditation and joining certain support groups.
I hope you will consider my suggestion before sending in your resigning letter. You might regret it later if you quit now and not fix your problem.
Anyway this is just my suggestion and if you feel it is not appropriate then it's alright. I hope you all the best. Good luck!

I think if I were in that kind of situation, I would be looking for a job constantly and only take "days off" if I had an interview. I don't think I would tell the employer I was looking until you have received an offer or at least until someone wants to call them for a reference on you. It is better to find a place where you can be happy and visit your friends during after work hours. Have a great week!!!
