Hi happy myLot members..! :)
I need suggestion from you. For your information, i rarely use make up in everyday activities, even when i go to a party, i seldom wear make up. I just put more accesories.
But, now i have a new job, which make me have to wear make up so i dont look pale or 'nude' as they said.
And, my problem is, i do not get used to it. I know how to put on mascara and eye liner, but applying eye shadow can be a disaster for me. And, my small asian eyes dont help me much, if you know what i mean.
I read books about this, take a good look at model's eyes in magazines, but still not sure about what to do.
Any suggestion? Thank you very much :)

stay away from the eyeshadow!!
just stay away!!
lol i hate eyeshadow. really hate it. my ultimate makeup tip is this.
put your foundation on, so your skin looks lovely. put your broner or your blush on. and THEN put concealer on your eyelids. then apply your eyeliner and your mascara. the concealer on your eyelids will make your eyelids look bright and matte, and will stop your eyeliner or mascara from smudging onto yourlids, but avoid eyeshadow at all costs.
i hate it, it is simply thee worst invention ever. i think it makes peoples eyes look smaller and horrible, and it creases into your eyelids when your eyelids sweat and i just think there is no need for it!
if you do want some colour on your eyes, try a coloured eyeliner pencil, like gree or blue or purple, and drawing a line behind your top lashes. this will give you a little colour without applying the horrible shadow!

Hi chicksdigscars..! :)
Hahahaa.. it seems like you already have had a really bad experience with eye shadow.. :D
Thank you for your tips, now i know another use of concealer :)
I prefer liquid eyeliner and of course i choose the waterproof one, so i dont have to worry about my eye liner smudging onto my eyelids :p
But, honestly, at the proffesional hand, eyeshadow can make my eyes look amazing :)
I like it, i just do not understand how to apply so many colors of eyeshadow and still looking great, not look like i am wearing too much make up :D
I never try a coloured eyeliner pencil, i usually using the black one, and the other colour that i know is the white one, to make eyes look bigger :D
Thank you chicksdigscars.. have a great day! :)

Hi cgirl123
I also have a job that requires me to put on makeup so I won't look pale. It doesn't mean that when they tell to wear make up is you have to apply a heavy make up, just a light make up will do. What I did is I just put on pressed powder, blush on and lipstick, my lipstick lasts up to 8 hours that there's no need for me to reapply it more often. I don't apply eye shadow because I don't know how to, hahaha =).
I suggest that a simple and light make up will do, it works for me.

Well, me too is not into make-up but I can do it my way of applying. It doesn't need a pro in learning to put on make-ups. Just a common-sense *LOL...
You can watch youtube's video how to and apply it yourself. Powder and lipgloss were fine to me. Lipstick, I'm quite using it.
In party's, I wear make-ups. It really adds beauty and ellegance on wearing some.
Applying in jobs, yes, you can find application fits to be a pro-looking person.
Overall, make-ups have themes or types to get on for every occasions you are into.
Happy day cgirl!

Hello Lhenni..! :)
I do read articles about make up in magazine and/or online sources. I do practice based on what i have been read. But, the problem is, sometimes it feels like something is wrong, the make up is not fit with me, whether the color itself or how and how much i apply it on my face.. :(
I think I just do not have the confidence yet, not enough self esteem to go to a party with my own make up because i usually have someone else who is more proffesional to do that for me..
happy day too Lhenni! :)

i think as you have tries to learn a lot about makeup techniques you are to a bit known about it now...then too you can go to have a look on the number of videos posted on net about doing makeup..Then you can also go to some nearby parlour or may be the one you must be visiting just take a daily makeup for one day and just see how she does and ask her for tips which especially suits your face and features and complexion..This you can take as an investment as this way you can grasp a practical, live demo of makeup and its surely gonna help you..

Hi! Asian eyes are very pretty :) A lot of matte eyeshadows work for them :) I know this post is over a year ago, but I still want to share you what I know. Usually if you are a monolid, darker matte shadows are suitable :) For example, black, grey, blue etc. Also, you need to put eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger. There are a lot of youtube videos that teach you how to put eyeliner, mascara etc. I suggest you watch the videos of Jen from frmheadtotoe :) She is monolid and an asian as well. She is a korean beauty blogger from the U.S, i think :) Good luck!!

I guess , even at work the make up should be light. Foundation, eye liner , a little blush and light shade lipstick is fine for office. So even if you can not put eye shadow , it's alright while going to office. but otherwise, for going out some where, you need to practice applying shadow and then you will get used to it.
