Hi guys. Been busy for awhile but took a few minutes I have to update my myLot.
Well, here it goes. :)
I've read a few discussions I've started and "geez" I did have a few grammatical errors and words misspelled. Good thing when I check the keyboard it was just beside the letter it should be. hihi. But for those grammatical errors. Well, it's my fault for not taking time to read it again. But we should right? Do you?
I know not everybody is fluent in English but hey we should be conscious with what we write and try to better all the time. I know there are a few apps where it helps you write a well versed sentence and does inform you whenever you have misspelled words or grammatical errors. English should be fun and understandable. It is the only language accepted here in myLot.
Enjoy reading and always aim to be better my friends. wink* :)

You're not alone girl
I have a lot of misspelled words and wrong grammars too. That's because I don't re-read what I type. I usually re-read it once I hit the 'post response' button.. and sometimes I still didn't see that there were errors. When I check back if I receive a reply on other discussions, that's only the time I see my errors
It's a good thing people here won't laugh at you, because mylot wouldn't allow them to However, I still think that we really need to focus on posting every words correctly for it to be more understandable.

I don't look at the kb too, but sometimes when I type so fast and carried away with my emotions my typing what I have in mind, some words are usually missing while some are placed before a word when I actually intend to put it after a particular word.

hi, for spellings yes and for grammar, sometimes I only make sure my message is clear to understand. So I might end up with some grammatical errors but for spelling i always need to be careful as you know at times it will give some other meaning which we did not wanted... LOL. If our write ups are with good grammar and spellings, that would give us a satisfactory feel as we did our best.
Of course, here I find very interesting topics to read and respond as well, so why worry about our small errors/ issues. Take care..

Hi reken.. that's it and when others can understand and the subject is interesting then mistakes are not noticed always.
That's fine Damster2K. The text/ SMS lingo is very different when we put them on paper or forum for others to read. I used to take notes in English shorthand at work from my seniors but once my profile is upgraded now and I just forgot about the actual short hand strokes. But sometimes when at meeting etc, I do jot down the minutes in Text lingo only and others can also read my notes. While posting for forums and sites, we should take care not to make mistakes. Welcome to my lot and happy lotting!

Right. Learning how to communicate well and express once feelings will help us get better responses and good views. That is really how myLot wants it to be. We may have wrong grammars or misspelled words, as long as it's understandable then it will come a long way. :)

Whenever I am texting to friends I always shorten everything to the extreme like 'hav u sen d new movi called immortals' but when i am on forums I would never because of trolls trying to bring people down for little mistakes.

Hi raken...
I have spelling and grammatical errors on my writings here quiet often. What ever you are reading here, it was more poorer before than joining mylot. Here, i try to follow others and have improved my English a lot.
Regarding grammatical error, it may be now but spelling errors occur very less as my window make them correct automatically.
Have a nice time.

That's great to know that you have been improving Shibham. :)
I see how great myLot has helped a lot of people.
The more you read other people's discussion, the more you learn.
Cause learning is very dynamic in itself.
Strive hard to be better always. wink*

I often do. However, there are instances that I neglect rereading my posts, especially when they're long ones. It's pretty embarrassing to get the spelling wrong because we already have the spell check. As for grammar, that would be another story.

Same here.
It's hard to check when it's very long.
Only shows we all do have the same mistakes. :)

This is interesting fo ri often think faster than i can type and it is easy to make errors. so i thought I would type my posts in Word first so i could correct grammar and spelling and then paste it into here.
However I was surprised when I got a pop-up that said I could not paste for I did not have a score of 500 or more. ??huh?
Guess we just have to do the best we can writing on the fly. For those of you who are working on your English the spell and grammar check in word would be helpful. Also you can search the internet for translation programs to assist you with translation from your language to English. I have used these to assist me in responding to E-mails to other countries at work from English to Spanish, Portuguese etc. Here is one but there are many others.

I check my spelling and grammar, but sometimes I forgot to do it when I am in a hurry or wants to have my response posted as soon as possible.
It feels so bad whenever I spot errors in my grammar and spelling in my posts.
I know I cannot do anything about them once I have posted my response already because mylot does not allow editting of posts so I just try to be careful about my words.:)

I know how you feel.
I feel ashamed whenever I see it but just laugh it off after.
Being able to see our mistakes is actually good to so we can correct it next time. :)

i don't bother sometimes, mostly because i'm lazy. only then when will i notice my error after i post them. it's so silly. no problem if the errors are minor and the whole message is understandable. for huge mistakes, i would add a follow up post to correct them.

I usually read through once again, but mostly let the spelling checker do it's work when come to spell check.
I do agree that nowadays, with the convenience of spell checking there is a lot of wrong grammar still as people tend to depends on the spell check which sometimes wont' give the correct ones..

Some people just want the easy way. And I'm partly guilty of that too. LOL
But I do think those apps are made to help us. As long as we don't depend on it too much of course. And as long as we remember and use it properly.
Have a great day! :)

Although myLot does not mind we should at all times do our best here and avoid grammar and spelling mistakes. Anything that is perfectly written is like music that has no false notes!
I have noticed that even those whose first language is English are careless just because myLot does not mind.

I did notice that too. :)
Well, myLot is really doing a good job of keeping the site as friendly as possible.
I just don't like reading my posts with misspelled words or grammatical errors.
I'm just meticulous with it. And it actually helps attract myLotters to comment more on your post. :)

I usually re-read after writing my responses or my questions here. Sometimes, when I have time, I do check my grammars. But most of the time, I just do a quick review.
Have a nice day.

I actually started pretty bad too. :)
But because I was surrounded with people who talk really good English,
I then strive hard to be better just like them.
I also helped me since people understand me better and talked to me more.
So take it as a challenge my friend.
I know you can do it to! :)
Have a great day!

I do take time to go through my posts before posting them, but still I have noticed two spelling mistakes in my previous posts until now. I don't know how I missed those words. I know I cannot edit my posts once they are posted, so now I try to be more careful especially with the spellings. As far as grammar is concerned I don't have an excellent command of the language, so I am bound to make mistakes. Hope a day will come when i'll be able to express my views and thoughts without any grammatical mistake.

Hahha...this is very hard question for fanta because fanta's English is weak and if check the own spelling and grammar no know what is wrong. But always try to read the discussion twice before posting. Not responses but before posting discussion at least read it. Nice discussion thanks for sharing it.

Strive hard, Fanta! wink* :)

Yes i do check grammar and spelling, but i'm not perfect that's why i still do commit mistakes once in a while. It's actually good to practice it here because you have alot of conversations with people and it's good training.

me, i always check what i write before posting it. kkk :) i do the same in Facebook. I have to make sure that my English is right before i post it, because as we know, this is the only language acceptable here. The readers must understand clearly what am i saying, so i check my grammar and spelling first. hihihih :)

I hate to say that I am not smart but I tried to write as good as possible and check the grammar after I have written them as well. I knew that I have used a lot of grammar error issues on my writing, so I hope that my writing reader could check my writing for the better of my English competency. We would find the error soon we wrote the sentences or words here on myLot.

Happy Friday dear!

Actually, I don't. hahaha. I also commit some grammatical errors that I want to delete or edit my post. Unfortunately, I find it time consuming to read again. I just trust myself and whatever it is that's it. Maybe, they can understand me despite my grammatical errors.

Yes, I check my spelling and grammar each time I post something. As for grammar, we all disagree and dispute the use of "I" and "me", so I post what I think sounds the best, even if others think it's incorrect.
I see a lot of broken English posted on mylot, but I won't make a big deal out of it, because those posting know more than what I do, afterall they are posting in a language foreign to them. Hey, I only know one language and they are working on two or more.
