It is not your native language, you will have hard time learning it, it is unavoidable. It happen to every student, learning a foreign language is always difficult at the beginning stage, but after much practicing like writing, reading and speaking, you can improve incrementally over the years. Just be patient, everything will turn out alright for you. My friend! The same thing will happen to a foreigner who want to learn about Chinese language, he will find Mandarin is too hard to learn. hi yejiajun
I belive the best way to improve/learn the English language is by using it in a real conversation, use it when you communicate with other people. If you are not very comfortable talking to someone in English I think mylot is a good way to start practicing, even though it is not face to face conversation I think participating in mylot will really help improve your English so just be active here and express yourself by sharing your ideas with our fellow mylotters. Good luck and I hope you can pass the exam

your welcome yej most of our fellow mylotters are very friendly and helpful so you won't have a hard time making some new friends here, just participate in different discussions and as much as possible reply to the responses in your own discussion because through that they will be more familiar with you.

good day yejiajun,
with reference to your topic discussion, we are almost on the same boat meaning, we are both studying how to learn to speak each other languages. in your situation, you are studying english. while on my situation, i am trying to study chinese. as i am very eager to learn chinese mandarin.
i just wonder if we can teach each other. wherein, i will teach you the english word and its pronouciation then you will train me how to read and say chinese mandarin. but, the matter is how. if only we can exchange each others idea. but we cannot as our location is afar.

Your English is quite good. I don't think that I agree with you. Here, in Indonesia, Chinese mostly were smart student and they spoke very good. I got tips if you want to learn English well, you should have bought supporting tools in the form of CD or DVD that is contained of English Conversation. You also have listen to them as often as possible. You also have to practice your writing skill. I think for writing, you start writing or writing here on mylot. You also have to practice speaking with your friend or you could make a group of your friend and try to invite them to speak in every meeting there what is called English club of your own. That would be fun to have a conversation group.

I'm also Chinese. In my opinion, many of us Chinese find English difficult to learn mainly because they are affected by the language habits of Chinese. If we can read some typical English sentences or articles and find the feel of speaking and reading English,it would be much better.I dare not to say that my English is good enough, but at least English is not as difficult as most Chinese people think it to be.I hope you will have a great improvement on your English learning in the future!

i have a suggestion and i use it too
Download a FREE online game called The lord of the Ring.
There is a talking system.
Hence, we can listen other and other can listen our speak too.
As a result, my listening and oral skill improved!
And it is all FREE and can play too!

Immerse yourself in it. Find an online newspaper that's in english, or listen to a program on the radio that has an english speaker. I've often heard that english is hard to learn. The fact that you are writing in english is good. Keep it up, and good luck on your exam.

Well, I can say the same. Chinese is so difficult to learn. I've only learned a few words from my beau. Although I can understand a little when he talks with his mom or his friends in Chinese. I think you're on the right path of learning the language.
You can practice here in mylot. It will greatly improve your skills just by responding to the posters here.
