Actually, my choice of music depends on my mood. Or sometimes on the time of day.
Usually in the very early morning, i like to hear gospel or worship songs. When i am already at the office, i would usually listen to rap, R & B or pop music. When it's after lunch , i would usually like to listen to danceable tunes, so i won't get sleepy.

Me and my husband would sometimes listen to Michael Jackson's music or watch his videos. We are fans of Michael Jackson. But we do love danceable tunes too and all those new songs too.
Music actually doesn't choose any age, right?

It depends on my mood. If I'm sad, I start from sad songs and slowly move on to lively ones. I don't like noisy rock songs but only melodious and light ones. Sometime I go for instrumental. My all time favourite is "sky kisses earth" by Prem Joshua. I don't know how it takes me to heaven and it's so soothing. It best suits me no matter how my mood is:)

I probably would not be interested in your type of music. Whether alone or in any type of situation, I listen to every little bit, but mostly mainstream. Anything will do, whether it's rock, rap, hip-hop, dance, country, and anything mainstream.

I would say that being a baby-boomer born just after World War 2, my favourite type of music is cool modern jazz. I was for quite a few years a professional musicians and played in a jazz club, but I also played in cabaret clubs after the club closed and played pop and soul music that I enjoyed also. I think most musicians I know, enjoy a wide range of music as we are expected to play whatever our audience wants. When I learned as a child, I played classical music, that I also enjoy to listen to from time to time as it tends to be quite relaxing - well some of it does. _Derek

I prefer to listen to the music of Adele. I feel the warmth wrap of my soul every time I hear her voice. She is undeniably amazing. She does not need any accompaniments because her voice is unique and fantastic.

I listen to every genre imaginable, including the most obscure genres and artist that your average person has never heard of. The three genres I do NOT care for (except for a select few artists and songs) are mainstream pop, rap, and electronica (and most of its subgenres). And by "mainstream pop" I mean mainstream as of this current decade, so oldies and 80's new wave and things that were mainstream at the time they were made but are no longer considered such are fair game. I also don't like covers and remixes of my favorite songs, especially electronica ones.
If I had to choose favorites, I would say any German composer (and I mean ANYONE, from Hildegard to Bach to Hans Zimmer) are perennial favorites, as is the country music of the early to mid 90's. I love all country music (though I don't like any of the post-Garth Brooks era artists), but the 90's is my favorite period since that's what I grew up with. I also love American patriotic music, folk, blues, jazz (anything that originated in New Orleans for that matter), and genres that take a music form that isn't normally classical and give it classical elements, such as rock opera, Wagnerian rock, and symphonic metal. Of course, there are countless others as well.
My music choices are most influenced by my heritage (I am big on genealogy), and my emotions. I don't really have a favorite artist or genre or song other that various sentimental favorites that I have adored and admired since childhood because it always changes depending on what I'm in the mood for, what won't stop playing in my head, what is "calling" me or "following" me, etc...

When I am alone, I enjoy all types of music. Many times the type of music I listen to depends on my mood at that given time. If I am feeling energetic, I like music that is upbeat, which usually means a "rock song." When I am feeling melancholy I like to listen to "easy listening" music. I especially enjoy listening to music and all kinds when I am alone in the car. Sometimes, I just like to listen to a lot of my favorite artists, no matter what kind of music it is.
