We all have fallen on hard times. However people look at you as if you are crazy when you ask for help.
We should help if we can and never ask for anything in return all of the blessings we have are here for a reason and can be taken away from us without any given notice.
So look in your hearts and ask yourself could you donate a 1.00 to a person you do not even know, because they needed it and could you do it without asking for anything in return?

Of course I give. I am a christian but believe in the Buddhist pholosophy that the more you give the more you get. But then does it come to the point that I give and expect something in return. It not not that but you get back what you give in some different form. I have experienced that.

yes. I think it's important help those in need. I would hope that if I was in need someday that there would be other like myself with open arms, ready to help.

Its not charity if you give without expecting something in return. If you do someone a favor now that's demands a favor in response.
Now giving something to someone I do not know for no reason, seems a little doubtful to me and isn't likely to happen as I do not know if they can be trusted.

well I am glad you shared your views, however it is not about knowing a person in order to help them through a rough spot in their life.
I have given to many and have never asked for anything in return however I have been BLESSED many times over for what I have done in my community and elsewhere.
Thanks for posting

Even when money is tight, I try to give to charity as much as I can. I know I could be much worse off than I am and can only imagine what other families are going through.

Yes. At christmas I make gift baskets for my church the give them to families in need during the holidays. It is something I have done for many years and it teaches my boys that its important to think about other peoples needs not just their own.

Well I know what it is like to not have money.I have neen trying to get a job for the last 5 years with no success so far. Being on Benefits is no fun apart from the agro.
I try to give where I can no matter how small it is better than nothing after all there is always someone worse off than you no matter what your circumstances.
