enjoy the full moon eclipse together

There will be a full moon eclipse tonight.It is doubltful,however,whether I can witness the astronomical phenomenon,because it's getting cloudy since this afternoon.
July 22,2009,Mom, Michele,son and I have witnessed a wonderful celestial event,a partial solar eclipse.
In primary school textbook,it is said that a moon esclipse always appears on the fifteenth day of lunar calender.But strangely,today is the sixteenth day of the 11th lunar month.

Is it allowed to eat food at this time?
My cousins had told me to have nothing during full moon ecllipse.
What is the reason behind it ?

I watched the whole process at the ground of my house when the total eclipse lasted for 51 minutes.almost the whole territory of our country can be observed and long duration.I also observed that during the eclipes there will be made of a little red light in the shadow of Earth.it must be the diffuse of sunlight and the Earth's atmospheric reflaction resultes.
