Several years ago, I have been enthusiastic about having my own website. And few months ago, this dream has finally came into reality. I now have my blog, hosted freely in Blogger.com and with the domain name of my interest (www.lynnellemmanuel.info). It is my personal blog where I blog about the things that interest me.
Everything is fine but I want to put user engagement into my blog and the current "comment box" of Blogger.com is, for me, not that effective.
Undoubtedly, Facebook is leading the world of social networking. Who doesn't have Facebook account? I have been promoting my blog in Facebook. Few days ago, I finally decided to vanish my blog's default "comment box" and wanted to put Facebook social plugins into my blog so that visitors can easily like, send and comment my posts and share them to their friends in Facebook easily. And so I did.
First, I went to developer.facebook.com and click Documentation then select Social Plugin. I read the information of the plugins that I wanted to put into my blog. Some are easy to integrate while some are tough such as the comment box. For this, I tried Trial & Error method and research a lot on how integrate it. My hardwork and effort paid off when I finally integrated the comment box right below my posts. Whooh! That was tiring but rewarding!
After the integration, my blog is now more engaging that they can easily comment, like and send my posts.
How about you, are you using Facebook Social Plugins to drive growth and engagement into your site? What are your insights about it?
