i get s confused at times.. There are just so many genres out there that it is hard to put a song in to one category. There is Punk rock, which sounds the same to Po Punk, acoustic is easy to pick though and there are many types of rock too...I also get confused with Blues and ballads. When I looked at the list of genres, from A to T, it was like more than 20.. never knew genres of music was so many. Don't you get confused sometimes?

Yeah, you will got confused if you will categorized each song you have downloaded to each genre in your playlist. I think we all have different ways on how to categorized or classify a song in which genre it may belong. So to make it easier for me, I just put labels on each playlist not by genre but how I perceive the music belongs.

When it comes to albums on my shelf, I list alphabetically by band/artist, followed by soundtracks by title, followed by compilation albums by genre, but it doesn't go into subgenres - only the basic genres like rock, country, new age, celtic, classical, and so on. If it is multiple albums in a series (ie. Billboard Hits), they will be shelfed together in numerical order. I do agree that certain genres do sound similar. My dad thinks hard rock sounds a lot like heavy metal. And sometimes an album or song will have elements of multiple genres or subgenres, and your own perception is not necessarily the same as the music industry's perception. Sometimes I look it up to see what it is formally considered to be, but my personal approach isn't quite identical to that.

I mostly doesn't have confusions while I am playing songs on both computer and mobile. I mostly used to categorize songs into different languages and they are sub divided on the basis of film name and rest of them are put into the category named mixed. I think you will not have any confusions when you arrange in this manner.
