I went Christmas shopping yesterday and I bought gifts for my two godchildren. I bought them stuffed toys. I really like the dog stuffed toy that I bought and when I went home, I couldn't stop myself from hugging it. I even took pictures of it. I almost didn't wrap it up! I felt I didn't want to give it to my godson anymore. ^^ Because it's just soooooo cute!!! It looked like an Alaskan husky just like in the picture.
Have you ever bought gifts that you felt you didn't want to give anymore?

Wow, that happened to me too. When I went on a trip this summer, I picked up some gifts for my friends. One of them was a fancy USB. It looked so cute that I didn't want to send it to my friend any more. I was going through struggle at that time. Then I decided to give it anyway. Otherwise, I would feel kind of guilty for taking that gift that I should have given to my friend. Later, I took pictures of that USB. I believe that my friend would make good use of it. And it also made me feel better that my friend liked it very much, too!

That's what I did, too! I took pictures of the stuffed toy. At least I've got some remembrance of it.

I can never buy stuffed toys for anyone, because I too am a sucker for them, even at 40 years old, it's always been that way! Fortunately my nephews are not into stuffed toys and prefer toy cars, now I can buy endless amounts of cars for them and not want them for myself! I do try to buy things that I don't like that way I can easily part with them! I loved the Alaskan husky and I certainly couldn't part with it either!

Hi secretbear, such situation did happen to me several times as well I still remember I had promised one of my colleagues to give him a pair of Siamese kittens before my lovely Mimi going to give birth to her babies. Cat usually would have at least 3 kittens. But it's sad that a couple was available only that time. They looked so sweet and cute in their snowy white fur. No matter how unwilling how unlike to part with my adorable little kittens I had to let my colleague to bring them home on the third day as I had to keep promise (shrug)
I visited my colleague house the next day in the evening for I really missed the little sweeties. Since then I payed a visit to the colleague often, to hug and to play with them until my Mimi had given birth to another 3 little babies later.
Have a nice day and happy posting!

lol :D So that became a christmas gift for yourself instead? If i really like something, i won't even think of it as a gift for others. IF i have no choice, i would buy another one for myself.. haha After all, there are so many choices out there right, secret? hehe ^^ So far, i have only gotten what i want and also lucky enough to get back what i given out during gift exchange.. lol :D

I believe that most of the gifts that I bought are ones that I really take much liking to and thus, I always find it difficult to let go of them. When this happens, it means that one has bought good items to give away as gifts.
Meaning, this is really a good indication that you did right in purchasing those gifts for your love ones.
Have a happy day, secretbear.

I wish. My godson is just one year old and I don't know what he likes because I don't see him much.

I was going to bypass this discussion when I saw it 5 weeks ago, but didn't the exact same thing happen to me when Christmas came for me lol? My grandmother wanted a book, but the bad part is it was a book that I wanted too! I bought the book online, and it was all I could do not to open it! I knew that if I read even the first few pages, it would have never gotten to my grandmother for Christmas lol! But it turned out alright in the end. I got a gift card for Christmas, which I turned around and used to buy the book again for myself! lol.

Actually yes it is! I previously had the book as a pdf on my phone...sounds convenient until you realize that you are reading a short novel with something that gives you no device such as a bookmark Now I'll finally be able to finish it. I even bough the 2nd book in the series to follow up!

It happened to me way back when I was young and it was suppose to be an exchange gift at school.
I really liked the toy that I even played with it the weekend before the actual Christmas Party. When my folks got home and saw what I did to my present, they decided to buy another toy of the same kind which I would bring to the Christmas Party and then give as an exchange gift.
Oddly though, when gifts were exchanged, my gift was not taken from the table and it surprised me. I ended up bringing the toy back home after.
So, I got two toys that day.
I didn't really buy the toys but that's how it went (^_^")
Merry Christmas~!

That did happen a few times and guess what, I kept them and bought the person something else. One was a stuffed toy, of sorts, a lavender scented terry cloth stuffed bear to hang in the bathroom. I didn't take it away from a child, no, it was to have been a gift for a grown lady. But I gave her the basket with the fancy soaps and lotions but kept the bear. Another time I bought someone a spoon rest for the kitchen and while wrapping it I decided the person would not love it as much as I did so I got him something else and kept that one, too. Oh, and another time I ate somebody's chocolates...and got them another box just the same. Say, you struck a raw nerve here, lol.

I bought my daughter some perfume once that I almost kept for myself It was perfectly light and smelled wonderful. I made every excuse up in my mind I could why I was going to go ahead and keep it. I ended up giving it to her but it was a close call.

Yes I did. I bought a nice pink miniature chest drawers. When I bought I thought of giving it to my goddaughter. I bought it from another country and when I'm back home - I didn't give it coz I find it really cute and I love the color pink So I gave her some dress, chocolates and other things instead.

I love pink, too! That's one reason why I don't give pink gifts to any of my goddaughters.

Well, yeah. That's one thing you can avoid the dilemma. Buy stuff only for children.

But recently I and one friend gave a pink Barbie watch for our goddaughters birthday! Good thing I see the watch just for kids so I never try to keep it for myself

This can happen to me, too:) I think at least you can keep this stuffed toy for some days since it is not Christmas yet. And then you can give it to your godchildren. Or perhaps you shall go to buy one for yourself as a reward. You shall treat yourself better and you deserve it:)

Actually yes! LOL......I had a hard time wrapping one of my gifts I got for my daughter as I really thought it was cool and didn't want to part with it. Fortuantely it had to get into the mail early to go to Germany and I didn't have time to find something else.....so it's under a tree in Germany right now!

I did change my mind when I bought a dress for my daughter and when I fit it in- I find it soooo nice and comfortable to wear.
So,I ended up buying one more for her :p
