Chocolate dipped Jelly Beans

At work we have Jelly Bellies for the holiday for stocking stuffers and there's a package that came up today of Chocolate dipped. I dunno if I'd like that idea.... jelly beans are already sweet enough to me, unless they are trying to incorporate the flavors to be similar to say a real strawberry dipped in chcolate ect? Have you ever tried a chocolate dipped jelly bean?

Hi 3SnuggleBunnies, I actually received a pack of these from a "secret santa" exchange at my last staff meeting. I agree with your first impression - it seems kind of redundant to chocolate coat something already as sweet as jelly beans, and after trying them, I would say that's the truth. In all honesty they were quite weird tasting. It's like the taste of the traditional jelly bean was there - in various fruity flavors, but then there's this burst of rich chocolate that kind of kills the jelly bean flavor. Not sure what they were thinking with this combo, but I'm definitely not a fan and I think they are just too rich to enjoy.

Indeed, something that's already sweet and with a typically distinct flavor will be lost in the sweetness of something else already super sweet.

jelly beans are pretty sweet on their own as is chocolate. i am not sure that i could do both together. i prefer chocolate covered pretzels.

If you like chocolate covered pretzels then you'd like a lil cheaper alternative of them dipped in frosting....yum and oh so sinful!

I can't say that I've ever tried a chocolate dipped jellybean. However, I can say that if the flavors of the jellybeans were right, it wouldn't be something that I would be opposed to trying. A few flavors of jellybeans that I would be willing to try after they were dipped in chocolate would be: strawberry, cherry and even pineapple. However, I would not eat a chocolate dipped popcorn flavored jellybean.

I don't know what flavors were dipped I don't know that I paid much attention. Though popcorn jelly belly is my favorite!

I have never heard of chocolate dipped jelly beans before. they do sound delicious. I love both chocolate and jelly beans. I would never have put that combination together. Now all i want to do is try it for myself.

Have you found them yet to try them out? They were in a boxed gift set when I saw them.

I haven't tried this chocolate dipped jelly bean.I think it is too sweet if it still dipped in chocolate.I better eat the jelly bean alone.

Really, snuggles..there is nothing about the thought of "chocolate dipped jelly bean" intriguing~ Must admit it is getting close to the time of year, that I am not as restrictive about my diet...but I think I will save my "chocolate fixes" for my home made truffles, rum balls...and all the traditional treats of the festive season that are so alluring..YUM yum!

And I bet your home made treats are much more satisfying than a chocolate covered jelly bean could ever be.

No I think I would prefer that they be seperate. I love chocolate....not so much jelly beans....so I could just enjoy the chocolate without jelly bellies.

I'm a chocolate lover and I say that's disgusting! I love Jelly Bellies but can only eat a few at a time, they are so sweet. Add chocolate and you have something I could not stomach! I never understood why something as perfect as a strawberry should be coated with anything. I don't like strawberries, they are so sour, but those who love them should like them in their natural state. This craze about combining flavors is really out of hand.

Hello! This how to eat, I not try. However, I like to eat chocolate, no matter which kind of taste of chocolate I like. My son is very like chocolate. Ha ha, now he learned to chocolate English pronunciation, often can speak English "chocolate". Happy every day!
