Why is it virginity myth is so rampant within religion? It says a women bleed means she's a virgin while in fact, not all virgin women bleed because there were women born without hymen. There are medical research about women that born without a hymen but still men especially who are very religious and traditional consider hymen as a sign of purity.
How would us, women, stop this myth? I feel as if religion controls women in the society by suppressing them too much like spreading the teaching about women who are virgin that must bleed in the first night of marriage? Actually, not all virgin women bleed... there are women do not bleed even if they're virgin because they born without a hymen.

I think people need to be made aware that not all women bleed. I am one of them. I never bled or had any pain my first time but I was in fact a virgin. It's hard with religion in other countries because when you are brought up to believe in something it just comes naturally and a lot of people are scared to change from what they know to be true.

Medical facts and scientific explanation had no place in cult-religion mythological teaching in modern time history. Scientific reasoning and fact finding mission is not part of an overall requirement and expertise necessary to become the leader of a flock or to sit in the highest hierarchy of the establishment's leadership structure. The ability to spread hype and mythology seem to be the norm of present day religion fellowship and recruitment drive for "Wow" maximization effect. Hymen or no hymen make no different to a simple mind.
