Do you use any amulet? Do you believe in the protective power of such material?
I think many of us have worn certain amulets at certain times.
When we are having a stressful time, such as during a major examination, we definitely will not reject such offer.
Even if we do not really believe in the magical charm of amulet, we rather have it than not have it.
If you have certain amulets, what are they, and how do you get them?

I've got a mercury dime that I wear on a red cord around my ankle.
it's supposed to act as a warning and protection against foot track magic, and is said to tarnish when such things are underway. it has tarnished on a few occasions, and I step up my protective works when it does.
and besides that, it looks attractive.

Hi Galena, I am really ignorant when it comes to such matter.
What is the meaning of foot track magic?
I have never heard of this term before, hope you can enlighten me.
When your mercury dime gets tarnished, what shouid we do?
I wonder if I should get something like this. I certainly rather feel safe than sorry.
Where do you get the mercury dime?

with foot track magic, most usually it's when someone puts down powders or oils somewhere you will step over them, and be affected, like on your doorstep or in a doorway they know you pass through. sometimes a footprint of yours will be gathered up and used in spellwork to affect you.
if the dime tarnishes, I step up my protective magic, and cleanse myself to try and remove the influences. then I cleanse, feed and polish the dime so it can keep doing it's work.
as for where you get them, they're old american currency, so not in production now, but you can buy them from coin collectors suppliers, from hoodoo suppliers, and I got mine, pre-drilled to be worn, through the craft website etsy.
if you can't get a mercury dime, any piece of silver jewellery can be used in the same way, but the dime is very traditional.

Hi Galena, first time I heard of this.
Strange to think that developed countries also have such magical powders to harm others.
I do not think I can get the mercury dime easily.
Probably I can check out the old China coins, and see if able to get the right mixture of elements.

Hi Taomoney, haha, so funny to hear about your brother getting sick after wearing a jade.
i think for the rest of his life, he will stay far away from any jade.
i have a jade with me all the time, but that is not really an amulet for good luck or anything.
It is an item I got from Yunnan during a trip there.
Yunnan and Myanmar are both jade producing areas.

Yes, i never see my brother have it again!
My mother said ... ... it is because he did not treat the jade well.
We suppose need to polish it with hand when we have time.
The it will looks like shining.
It suppose will protect us because it once bury underground with some body.
Hence, it is dark brown or reddish color.
It may be blood or mud go into the jade for long long long time.
My mother believed it with some special power!

Hi Taomoney, actually there is no need to polish it with hand.
When we wear it against our skin, it will get nourishment from us.
When we run and sweat, our sweat is a form of nourishment to the jade too.
That jade must be very valuable, since the color is so unusual.
I think he should start wearing it, or else sell it for a lot of money.
Such a waste to get a valuable jade, and then not using it.

Yes,in the past i have worn amulets and even rings but after sometime have discarded them. At present i am wearing a ring made of silver with a yellow saphire in it.It was suggested by one of our mylot friends who happens to be a certified astrologer. It is supposed to bring me good luck.I have started wearing it only recently and i hope it works.I really don`t have much faith in these things and am not superstitious but i decided to wear this because for the past 3 years i have been going through a bad phase in my life.

Hi Veejay, as long as you feel happy wearing it, then you should ocntinue using the amulet.
i think even if we do not get very good luck, at least we are still alive and have enough to eat.
I think that when we have faith in anything, the faith will sustain us through difficult times.
It is not the faith in amulet that counts.
It is the mindset we have when we have strong faith.
Sometimes the simple belief that everything will turn out fine does bring us happiness, and in the end, we really see that things turn out fine.

I never believe in them. I believe that if your eat healthily and live a healthy lifestyle, you will be prevented from getting sick with those deadly diseases.
Besides, you can avoid getting harmed if you avoid places where it's risky, and avoiding risky activities.

Hi Nezavisima, yes, you remind me of the red thread thing.
Over here, people are still superstitious to a certain extent.
I think they just want to keep away from evil.
for example, when someone in the family passes away, they would put red paper on every level of the apartment block.
I do not know the reason for this, but it is a good practice.
At least we are curious enough to find out who has passed away.
when we attend a wake, the family also passes red threads around.
We just take it without question.

I do have an amulet. It is an amulet that we get from the Buddhist temple. It is said that the amulet has the power to protect the wearer from harms. However the amulet cannot be exposed to water or its effect will disappear. I'm not sure how effective or powerful it is though.

not so much amulet as a coin like thing i used to carry around in the belief and thoughts that it would help. it had an angel on it and i was given it to have protection. but i eventually realised that was silly as no protection seemed to be there.

Hi Bunnybon, maybe the coin really brings you certain level of protection.
After all, you are still happily surfing net!
I think many of us should be thankful that we are healthy, and get to work safely and reach home safely.
We probably never realized that we are protected against so many accidents and other bad things, until something really happens to our friends or relatives, then we will take time to reflect on it.

I have a protective amulet that keeps stupid people away from me. It's actually a shirt that says "If you're stupid, get away from me." Quite frankly, it works like a real amulet. Amazing.

haha, frontvisions, that is so funny!
I think you can print a few more T-shirts to ward off other irritating people, especially those who want to borrow money or items from you.
That makes it real amulet!
I have never thought of a T-shirt performing a function like an amulet.
You have really opened my mind to this idea.

Hi Airamtheb, yes, many people keep amulets on their babies.
I do not know the real reason for it, but it is a custom for relatives to give something to the babies to ward off evil.
I think the practice of wearing amulet is a reflection of our need to trust in greater power.
Even those who attend church regularly always keeps a cross with them.
That is a form of amulet.

Can't say that I use amulets. But I do believe in them. There are amulets that protect and there are amulets that hold great power to who so ever wears it. Thows amulets with great power are here on earth. They are just really hidden good. Back in mid evil times there were sorcerer's and witches that held such amulets of great power. Some of the amulets were even buried with it's master's body. The chances of finding one of these rare amulets is slim to none, as we do not know the locations.
