Mylot Payment

What if Mylot stops paying? - Stop the money, will the discussions stop?
Philippines
December 11, 2011 3:33pm CST
I just realized how addicted I am to Mylot. I'm not big on posting discussions or picture but I really like participating in discussions. I mean, I feel like I am learning a lot about how others feel towards something. Along with that, I am eager to see how much money I accumulate each day. Now, I am not sure whether I am more excited about the monetary or the discussions. If mylot decides to stop paying its users, I am not sure how I would react. It would be hard to leave this site because of the friends I made, that's for sure. But then again, that is the same reason why I am not active in facebook, knowing my friends' statuses is not worth the time being online when there are other productive things I could do. I wonder what your take on this is..

The pay is, of course, a motivating factor. But that's not the only reason why I visit myLot. I learn a lot from the discussions posted. I have fun reading posts. It stimulates my brain to think for responses as well as questions that can spark interest of other people. It really is a worthwhile pastime. As for your question, I'd probably continue visiting this as long as the members continue to post interesting topics and to respond to topics with genuine interest.

Hi eunique I'm with you there, if you use mylot as the communication site that it is then you will get the best out of it. The earnings are small but to get paid for talking would be an ideal job for many and I really can't see how there is anything saleable in it.

That is nice to know eunique! I can't wait till you get 200 so you can also post smileys I know you can easily create discussions that are interesting because you are very creative!

Hello chrisding, hello reallysunny! Don't worry chrisding, the earnings are bit slow at first but once you get your groove, you will see how your earnings increase daily You can even earn up to $1 a day if you are really that hardworking in responding to discussions. Quality response, may I just add.

I cannot deny that the opportunity to earn a little by posting good quality content is not ONE of the incentives which makes me stay here. I like the way that the site encourages worthwhile discussions by a combination of rules and its unique payment structure and I like the fact that administration is effective and, on the whole, fair and human. All of this has managed to produce, in the more than five years that it has been going, a good forum with excellent long-term members who are mostly friendly and happy to help other users. You won't find very much flaming here at all and nearly everyone is at pains to understand and help those for whom English is not the first language. I think that every member takes on the role that most suits them. Some are good at starting good discussions (and maintaining them), others are better at responding to discussions and, perhaps, giving good advice. I think that it does take a little while before one understands the nature of discussion (which is really just having a good quality conversation, where everyone potentially learns something). It also takes some time before one is able to type a response or a comment quickly and intelligibly. I think that that skill is the one thing that I have valued MyLot most for. I have definitely improved in my ability to type good, readable and worthwhile English and this has helped me considerably in writing elsewhere. I used to write regularly on Yahoo Answers but I found that the incentives were less there. By rewarding its members for 'quality', MyLot seems to have discovered a happy medium which, at least for me, works very well by providing sufficient incentive and the goal each month of reaching the $10 payout.

I too, prefer to respond rather than to start discussions. Maybe some of that is laziness ... well, not quite that, but the knowledge that, if you start a discussion, you should maintain it and keep it going with replies to all the terrific responses you get (hehe!). Often it's a lot easier to respond to something and then not feel quite such the responsibility. Of course, one does reply when it's required but, at least, you can pretend you've gone to bed and can be a bit more leisurely about it.

owlwings you don't need me to congratulate you for an excellent response but I will anyway. Picking up on your point of fair and effective administration, do you know what happened to NJAagel who has disappeared completely. I definitely agree with what you say about the responsibility that comes with posting a discussion. The workload can certainly add up commenting on the responses especially if the discussion has been very successful. The learning angle is mainly the reason why I'm here. Trying to find out if there is commonality between people from the same country. I have noticed some people think that people from my country ( Britain ) have a certain way of thinking and tend to lump us all as royalists with the voice of the prime minister. The balance of starting against responding to conversations is definitely towards responding for me, in fact it's probably commenting.

Hello owlwings, Once again, thanks for the lengthy and well written response I think I fall under the people who are better at responding than creating discussions as I am struggling to maintain the interests of the other people. But somehow, someday I hope that I will learn how to create good discussions that will have threads after threads after threads!

I would still be here because since I came to this site, I have benefited a lot from it and of course gain some great friends. Now I even have my own blog and am doing freelance work to earn online. Without myLot, I don't think I would ever know about other earning opportunities.

Yes, you are one of the great friends I mentioned here but certainly not the greatest cause you're not tall enough. I know you are doing great in experts. I am too busy to write these day. Once I've cleared all my work, I look forward for some free time for other things.

Wow, Jlyn and reallysunny, from my impression, you two are friends even before you started mylot! Am I right? Or maybe I am wrong. These kinds of friendship are the ones we keep coming back for in Mylot! I wish I would have friends like you

I probably still use mylot but not as much as i do now, I like it here in mylot because i can learn, share my views, make discussion, make alot of friends. Questions here are answered with sincerity and with real facts and with links as proofs. Many replies i get from ideas of different people and you can really see some difference in many topics. Even if I don't get paid I would still be a loyal mylotter, that is for sure ;)

I remember myself 6 years ago, i was very addicted here and that i spend a lot of my time here. I truly agree that you can learn a lot here if you choose those are that have quality discussions and you will gain a lot of friends. I became inactive for quite sometime during the span of 6 years not because i don't like mylot anymore but because i had a brain drain that i can't even join discussion. Well perhaps i was just tired and couldn't spend much time here anymore. To be honest i consider mylot as my outlet of emotion whether i am happy, sad or any emotions i feel. So if ever they don't pay anymore, i would still be here but i know having rewards from what we do here is really a help for some.Anyway, i just recently came back and hoping i can be here more often and catch up with friends. Happy mylotting! have a nice day.

Hello cheenlly! It is nice that you are back, you can teach so many things to us newbies (if I am still considered a newbie) Mylot is a good site to be an outlet of emotions. People here will help you understand what you feel and will help you come to a good decision if you needed one. That's what I think about posting discussions and getting responses Good day as well!

I thought this website was totally different from other pay site. In myLot, I met new friend who really cared other people lives. I would say that because each time I made new post, they are so highly responsive and they always tried the best response which can answer the question of others. It is absolutely outstanding and even if this website won't pay their user. I still will come here and get new friend, new ideas here. I knew it would be hard for other to accept, because mostly the user were here for the reason of money. It is silly you are here only for the money, but here we can find more than just money.

Nevertheless I adore you a lot, meeting real friends here in mylot is a good and wonderful experience. I also notice that you always give heartfelt response to every discussions So of course, you deserve nothing less than what you give. Good day!

Of course it wouldn't be the same anymore probably i will not post a lot just a little less but i will still post because i learn from here a lot. Also i can help a lot of people here in myLot to earn money! I love this site very much!!!!

That's what I was thinking Hazelme, I will still visit mylot (probably still daily if I have time) but I would not be as focused as before-- if mylot stops paying. The reason why I am online most of the time is because I want to earn money during my spare time. Mylot is just the best site I have ever come across to. I get to relax while earning. What more could I ask for?

To tell you the truth, at first, I am motivated to join Mylot because of the earnings. But as time passed by, I enjoyed reading a lot of discussions here, and you find everything under the sun here. And I do find it fun to be here, giving a piece of your mind to others and expressing what you feel in a certain situation is really fun. Now, I think if Mylot will stop paying their members, I will not stop me from using it anyway. Facebook and other sites don't pay me anyway, so why stop using this site. I know I am learning a lot from this site and that lessons is truly a good pay for me.

Mylot was introduced to us by our professor. He said that if you want to make money online, this site fits for you. So I'm participating. Now that I read this, I wonder if mylot users were to leave this page if they will not be paying the users. Or they should stay on this because they learned to love this site. As for me, I am a new user, I am curious of what will be the feeling of being in Mylot for a long time, so I have to participate in it with or without payment.

Hi Annrose! Welcome to Mylot! Your teacher must be cool. I can't imagine a teacher who will introduce Mylot to his students. I mean, typically, teacher would advise students to bury their noses in a book. Anyway, good job to you and your prof! Hi girl_thinking.. This is a very good point..I have been in my lot for 5 days only now and so I probably am not able to feel entirely the same as you.. During the first 3 days, my only aim was to earn as much as possible but something strange happend on the 4th and 5th days. Since I started posting new discussions the foucs has shifted to making new friends and waiting for replies to my discussions and seeing wht others feel on my topic. I even forgot to check my earnings on those days and checked them only today. But as of today, I still feel if Mylot stop stops paying it will be a little hard, but you never know if my views will change in the future.

Wow, you forgot to check your earnings! I never skipped that. I think that is where my eyes first go to when I open my Mylot Nevertheless, if I see big or small earnings, I am still eager to participate to discussions!

I would not be sure too, Miss... I love myLot... I get to talk here, which I generally don't get to do in my real life... I get to express my innermost thoughts here... So, I guess I'll be here... Just like you I am also eager everyday to check my earnings for the previous day. So, I admit that money is definitely one of the factors... I think, its the unique feature of myLot and the Money, that keep us here for long long years... :)

Hello mr_pearl, I have a friend just like you before. He said that he is shy in real life and that he finds it hard to mix with a group and he said, online, he is different. He gets to express how he really feels. Sometimes I am also like that. It is much easier to say what we really feel when we are not face to face with the person we are talking to. That's what I love about mylot. I can say so much without being shy And of course, the payment is one of the perks. Or should I say, the best perk of this site

Hi girl, Hatley here is the oldest member here on myLot. Oldest as in age and not as in seniority. Hi girl_thinking, you are sooooooooo right about being productive on MyLot instead of Facebook. I use Facebook too, I don't post much I mostly look at what others are posting especially the pictures. Actually even before I found Mylot, I am really not active in Facebook. Hehe, maybe my real life is not so interesting and I rarely take pictures so I have nothing to share in Facebook that much. Mylot is different, I just use my thinking to participate in this community. I think I am much of a thinker than a doer. Maybe that is why I don't have much social activities. Well, I don't know if that is good Perhaps you have the same personality Good day to you!
