Forgetting user id and pass word in mylot

Whenever I log in for the first time in my laptop into mylot account I usually put save password and remember password. So there is no need for posting the word every time I log in.
I am sure most of the friends will be doing like that only. Today what I happened, I downloaded firefox latest version and when I had to log into mylot it required user id and pass word.
I could not remember these two for three attempts. In fact there was an option for asking for password. I clicked that also. then I got message no such user id. then only I remembered I was giving user id wrongly and then gave the correct one and I could log in immediately.
What is your experience in such occasions? How do you plan to remember user id and passwords for various websites?

nice. but you are young boy. you will be able to remember if you retain these in an orderly manner in your mind.

i do forget often, the gmail id passwords or yahoo mail id passwords, very often i dont even remember the regular sites i visit.Very bad memory i have.
Lastpass helps me a lot to solve this problem. The one password i have to remember is lastpass master password. However some times i do forget that one also.I try to ask for a password hint and as soon as i logon to this lastpass the whole work becomes easy.
Lastpass remembers every site and userid and password so there is no need to make a check with a remember password and user id with firefox or chrome.
Lastpass auto login option does logs in and is very easy for anyone to use it.

This Last pass has addons for the browser we use for example chrome, moxilla firefox etc., it does not even occupy a lot of space. And once the lastpass is logged in with the master password other sites which we save in the lastpass ,we can check them and login very easily as the lastpass saves the sites and passwords.
Congrats your at Blue star i am waiting for that star.

I have a notebook where I write this information most of the time. Sometimes I get too lazy though. I also keep some in a folder on my computer. I do not think I will completely forget how to log in to my computer. When I do not write things down somewhere, though, I may just forget them, because I try to use different ones on every site.

Oh my this is very familiar.
I had such a case here but in other sites worst to me is that I did all I remember to have your computer and password if you forget them and pull Mr. notebook and there I saved them all. because one happens to forget and not pleasant.
nice day!
Thanks for this discussion.

I basically use the same main word with a few variations - very few - such as certain numbers before or after it. If one combination doesn't work, the next one always does. I can't remember too much when it comes to passwords so I do that to make it easier for me.

This suggestion is good. Basically I forgot id because I was not posting every day. Instead it is better to post every day so that we remember. otherwise your suggestion is nice.

thanks. It works for me. As I said, I belong to so many sites and if I have to clear my cache in my computer it would be a pain to remember fifty or so different user names and passwords! Plus, I always use some form of timetravel as a user i.d.

hi ravisivan oh my the one I have a hassle with is my online bank of all things and you only get three tries then if you goof you have to make a new password.I knew my password but unknown to me I had bumped the capital button and thus the bank would not accept my correct password as it was all in capitals. so now I just go to my
password file in notebook and copy paste no problem.I have all my
password and user ids in one place on a file in notebook. so if I
forget I just lookit up.also I do put save on all the place I go
to but the bank will not let you do that. lol

Hatley aunty:
Your suggestion of keeping it in one place is good. sometimes some of us may forget to remember that "one place". !!Especially with bank accounts we have to be more careful in posting passwords.

your method of keeping them in a note pad is also a good suggestion one. But regarding bank accounts it should not be approachable to others.

I usually use three-or-four passwords; and if I can't get in with one of those or -I forget my username, there's usually a 'forgot password?' password-retrieval link that send the password to my email-account.

That is nice to have three or four passwords. password retrieval link can also be used. I forget whenever I create a new password and am not able to remember it. As you say I also use forgot password option and try to get it.

I've written all my ID and password on a page in Word. When I don't remember a password I search them on that file. I try to have the same password for several sites, although they don't recommend it. But to have different passwords means that you have to remember all of them. I heard somewhere in Internet about a software you can use for this task. I think people who have a lot of ID and passwords use that software.

I have not heard or used the software you are referring to. I remember the passwords that I use frequently. Problems occur only in respect of sites which I visit occasionally. I do try to keep more or less similar password for a few sites.Your suggestion to keep them in a page in word is good.
thanks.

I always write down the name of website which I joined and also my username there. And for every sites that I joined, I always have such unique but easy to remember password. All I have to do is just write the "clue" so I can quickly remember my password. Of course, it's only me who will understand the "clue" that I wrote down..

I think the same will not happen to me because my username and password has very significant meaning to me.I also let my browser remember my username and password, but I always remember them so I won't lose my account if something unfortunate happens.:)

That is nice. You make the browser remember and you also remember. that is good. But when you are not using for say a few days we tend to forget passwords and id also.
have a nice day.

hello,
This also happened to me but not in myLot site other site maybe those site that i visit very often and I am really having a hard time to remember the username and password because like you? I just save it and not remember it anymore which is really have a bad effect because it is kinda annoying when I forgot and cant log on. There are times that I have to sign up again because I really need to go to the website.

Thank god. I was not driven to that state. We can get password from mylot itself. If we open another account then our earnings in this account we may not be able to carry over to that account. good day.

ravisivan,
In my case I usually make sign in's with my most memorable things so that when time comes i can easily remember it. I also experience same incident with yours. I also forgot my mylot password but thank God I was able to retrieved it with the help of myLot email also. No worries as long as you remember the email add that you used when registering mylot then your in the safe track. You can possibly retrieve it!

Yes, I tend to set 'remember me on this computer' whenever prompted and also whenever websites prompt me with that question. We do so to minimize the hassle of typing those ever so often that we log in! It has happened to me quite a few times. The reason is less of upgrading the browser but more of 'clearing the cache'. I do this quite often to speed of web pages as otherwise, they hang for quite a long time.
My practice is I have a separate document file where I keep a list of all user id & password for all sites. I also have a lockable password keeper on mobile on which are all my password details stored. Now, it may also happen that I may forget the password to open the 'password keeper' too. Touch wood, hasn't happened so far.

This is something great. having separate file from where you can get all the details. keep it up. i also do not have use of password keeper.

bubuth: you keep these info separately in a notebook and retain the same in cabinet. that is fine. good day. But do not keep passwords in internet itself . that is dangerous.

IWhat you can do is that find user ID through email inbox the registration message that had been sent. That's why you need to save your messages in email inbox all the time except those spam messagesIf you forget the password, you can just press user ID, email address in the "forget password" link. If you can't really remember well, next time when you sign up to every website, make sure you make password keeper
