Roller.com was sold for $ 20,000 last month at sedo. i wish I had a few nice domains like those ;)
The best i have made is $ 72 for a domain that I bough for $ 35. Its still a good profit margin but I wish I can have more funds so that I can enter the big market.
It's really good to know that we can make some real god money in domain flipping if we plan things properly. I am still not that old in this market but am learning everyday. Hopefully I am gona get a few big deals in future :)

if we are going to a cheap domain, can make profit for it? what we are going to do once we buy a domain? are we going to look for a buyer? is this a buy and sell of domains?
if i am going to buy a $3 domain, do i need to renew it yearly for $3?
where to buy and sell cheap domains?

so do we need to pay $10 every year if the domain name we bought does not sold?
how to look for a good domain name. if we are going to find a good domain name. where to buy it or where to register it and what are we going to do next after registering or buying the domain name?

we have to buy a domain after doing proper research. the ones that sells easily are pr domains. if we can buy them cheap, we can add a decent profit and sell it to others. they can be sold at auctions at sedo or godaddy or at many open forums. if a domain is good then it should find a buyer within an year, the key is to keep trying and keep learning. once you start things, gradually you learn and will stand in better chance to sell most of your domains, making decent profit overall :)

any domain can make money provided it finds the buyer. they say a domains worth is what buyer wants to pay for it :)
$3.0 domain will be charged regular fees of $ 10.0 per year from the second year and onwards :)

That explains why I am not getting any good domain name for my site!! LOL
Domain buy and sale business is good but is not for everyone. You might be having a lot of patience as most people just quit before even trying much.
Anyway I am also looking for a good dot com domain name for a my new Social Networking Site .
Do you have any good domain name or can you suggest one?

Ya, I have been looking for a short and good domain name but it is not that important for now as my site is still under construction and I have time to register domain name until my site is complete. I have also registered a domain with my college's name to help me in starting, but I haven't launched it yet on that domain.
I have several domains available to register but I am not able to decide as none of them is as unique as I want.
By the way I am adding you as friend so accept my request so we can talk about it privately.

lol, its not that hard to get a good domain though :)
for social networking site, go for a short, preferably 4 or five letter word domain. it would be easy to brand them. I have one 5 letter .com. You can get it for free :)

hi there domainator,
wow a pretty good selling price. i wonder if i can also do that. selling my domain in that price.
in relation with that, i have a friend, who is also engage in making up her site. thus she told me that in due time, she will gonna sell it for a higher price as the ranks of her sites really goes up tremendously. as the last time i heard, she was able to sold one site around $12,000. so she is continuously making good of all of her site as she dreams to sell them higher than the first.

not all domains are sold in 5 figures, but good domains do have scope to make nice profit from their sale :)

domains can be bought from any popular domain provide like godaddy, namecheap etc. if you want to buy a domain which is owned by someone else, then you have to contact him and negotiate.
they can be also bought and sold in auction sites like sedo and godaddy auctions :)

yeah, regular price for a domain is about $ 10 per year, however, premium domains sells at much better price. so if we can find buyer for a domain, then we can make money from it without really build a site on it :)

well, if you just want to have a domain then you can have it for $ 10 (.com) or $3.0 (.info) . you can get it from godaddy or any other popular domain provider. But, yes, if you want to make money from them, then you would require to know a bit more of this biz :)

That is really cool! Domain flipping is surely a great way to earn money online.. Too bad, it needs some investments which is I can't afford yet. And also I am still blind about how to get success with domain flipping.. You should tell us more about your success story! :P
I ever wanted to start something about domain flipping by the time 1and1.com gave some promotion about cheap .com domains. But too bad, that promotion is not available for my country xD.
By the way, what the name of domain that you sold for $72 like you mentioned before, if I may know?

yeah, its nice way to make money. wait till I become a deci millionaire at least - story would f follow then . lol !
the one i sold was a .org - it was not because of the name - it was because of its page rank of 4. I managed to buy it cheap from a despirado who wanted to sell it for cheap and found its buyer that paid me $ 72. it took me around 45 days to find a buyer though :)

Nice to know you made a good profit from domain sale. But the $20000 for a domain name seems amazing. And a bit crazy too. But I guess the way it works is that the domain should have some good parameters that the buyers will assess. Like having secured a good page rank, lots of traffic, good affiliate marketing potential and a good niche. Otherwise, people can coin their own domain name & easily register. Have you got a good handle on all that matters in the game? If there are a few tips that you could share with myLot members here, perhaps some of them may also be interested in pursuing it.

Page rank and traffic does help in selling a domain. However, in case of roller.com, its more that that - its short, pronounceable and has something that can be branded - so it becomes a premium domain. NOW once you have such a fantastic domain, its just a matter of time when you can find a good buyer!
btw, they say that a domain's worth is what the buyer is willing to pay for it :)
buy yes, the more you know, the better you can do in this biz )
