Chocolate is more fat than carbs and actually as a diabetic I eat chocolate and it does not sent my blood sugarup. carbs that are simple like bread, cake, pies are the ones t o shoot ondes blood glucose up but normal people have insulin shot into their blood stream naturally and it herds the sugar into the waiting muscle
cells so not high blood sugar. You get diabetes from overeating and gaining a lot of weight not from a few pieces of candy if your pancreas is working normally.

If you don't want diabetes just take chocolates in moderation no matter how much you it. Anything of too much is not good so to avoid the bad consequences learn to control yourself. Self-control is a virtue which will benefit you. Now after eating chocolates in moderation, learn to drink water. Make sure you consume as much as 12 glasses of water everyday. And if you love eating sweets you must also love doing regular exercise everyday. Sweat out as much as you can. This is the best anti-diabetic habit.

Though diabetes has usually a family background but if you undergo physical exercise regularly and take healthy foods, you may be able to avoid it.

Starches turn to sugar in your body. Eating sweets is not the only way you get sugar. I don't know anything that will stop it once you've already got it into your body. I think that you'll just have to cut down some on the sweets. You do know they're an acquired taste? If you begin cutting down, after a while you'll need them less. It's the same way with salt and saturated fats. You can really cut down on your intake of something and not miss it if you do it gradually.
