Have you tried listening to something while you are sleeping?

I am currently trying an experiment on myself during sleeping. I have heard people saying that if they play the recording while they are sleeping, they will remember the content within the recording sometime. So, I am trying this out on myself by playing my lecture recordings while I am sleeping. I am not sure whether it works or not because I still haven't test myself on the knowledge. However, what I notice is I feel tired even after sleeping for 8 hours with the recordings playing. Have anyone of you tried this before? Did it work?

I don't think it's working. Let's consider this situation. If you mom and dad is talking while you are sleeping, can you be able to capture what they are saying? The answer is "NO". That's why they don't bother to talk about privacy stuffs around you while you are sleeping. Unless, you are faking. I guess so...

That makes some sense to me. However, how can we explain that I felt more tired than I usually does with even more hours of sleeping? Hehe, let me tell you something, I can hear what my parents say next door at night.

I can hear my parents talking while I am sleeping too if I am half awakened. That is because sleeping too much can weaken our immune system, making us more susceptible to colds, flus and other minor illness. The change in brain chemicals can also lead to headache. So Yes, it actually can make you more tired.

I don't think it works, but I have to admit that I've never tried. The main reason I don't think it works is because while we can hear things going on outside ourselves while we sleep, we don't really comprehend it. The brain is active, but not in paying attention to what's coming through our ears. I remember in Psychology class, my teacher brought up this idea and completely dismissed it. He insisted that you couldn't learn while you sleep. I think maybe I agree with him, but as I said before, I've never tried it.

I will tell you later whether this works or not after trying for a bit longer!

sometimes when I try to sleep I hear what my husband refers to children, but as you drift off, I no longer remember anything about. once you fall asleep, as they say that nothing can wake me up. but certainly, if I try to listen to them later in the morning to feel fresh but not very much tired and strained. because it is very tiring. Have a nice day! interesting discussion.

I think I just need some stimuli to remind me what I have heard while I have sleeping then I might be able to remember everything. So, in this case, maybe I would be able to refresh my memory while I listen to my lecture recordings again when not sleeping but I have to test on this. Anyway, have a nice day too!
