Praying and askig for forgiveness

Growing up, I was taught that once I became a Christian if I asked for forgiveness of my sins that God would wash THEM all away. Not just some of them but all of them, no matter what the sin was. I was talking to my children's great-grandmother yesterday and we got on this topic. She said that she was always taught that you would be forgiven BUT if it was one of the 10 Commandments that was broken that THAT sin would not be forgiven. I was shocked at this because I've grown up to not believe the same thing. What about you? Do you believe that once you're a Christian and ask for forgiveness of your sins that ALL of your sins are washed a way...or just some of them?

Dear Jenna, When you accept Christ as your Savior, ALL of your sins are forgiven!

See that's what I've always believed. I've never came across a Christian who believed that only some sins were forgiven so it threw me for a loop Thank you for your response hun.
