Isaac Asimov is the founding father of modern science fiction, who came out as a clear favourite among today's scientists and writers. He did a training as a chemist, and he also held a teaching post at Boston University for many years. He was not really elegant when he wrote to explain his theories, but he was really rigorous when he explained his ideas of science into the future. In his first novels, he used science and maths to predict and plan the development of societies. He knew how to explain science, and was a keen populariser of real science.
