I just wanted to share my feelings to my co-mylotters... I felt very down and upset, i just bought my laptop 2 weeks ago and last night a friend of mine borrow it from me, i lend it to her because she promise to return it at night. In favor of her she return it that night but unluckily i was asleep, so my boardmate told her to bring it inside my room. Unluckily again she put it right beside my bed, and when i woke up at midnight to take a pee, i step on it, but i'm too much sleepy to even look at what i stepped on, after i took a pee i just go back to sleep.. But this morning i realize it's my new laptop i stepped on last night and it's lcd is broken how lucky that was for me, so i had a whole day bad mood.. if you have the same or close experience you can share it also with me and to all our fellow my lotters thanks for reading this discussion and hopefully you'll share yours too

Oh, sorry to hear that. That must have cost you much. Did you get a new LCD? It's like buying a new laptop. I understand if you get bad mood all day, I would have bad mood for days for that. The speakers in my laptop broke down only after three months I bought it. I like to watch Korean drama in my laptop, and with a DVD copy the sound is not stable, at one chapter I got it so low so I had to turn the volume to max, but the next chapter got it so loud but it's too late for me to turn on the volume so the speakers broke. I tried to fix them but they need to send my almost new laptop to another city in Indonesia cause they do not have the facility in Bali... too bad. I now use a headset when listening to music or watching a video through my laptop.

Yes, I know that changing an LCD costs almost as much as the whole unit, and it wouldn't work just as before unless you got it right. Yes, I am luckier cause it's only my speakers. I hope you will get another raise in bonus so you can buy a new one. That is a good idea about a portable speakers, I have to clear up y desk to make room for the speakers though...

better clear your worktable to give space to an external speaker... remember watching movies and films are most absorbing when you've got a good quality speaker that can surrounds sounds in your whole room ... actually i'm not into movies and films but when i'm soundtripping i want my sounds up to the highest peak that it will fill my whole room

why don't you buy a portable speaker, or some external speaker it will gives you a great sounds depending on your speaker of course than using the internal speaker of your laptop.... your luckier than me it's just your speaker that got broken, you can still use it, unlike me it's the lcd that's been broken so i need to really replace it... and it cost as much as half the price of the whole unit... i'm thinking to buy a new laptop than making it fixed tha's why i'm working really hard

I have bills to pay, and I have no money to pay them. I am trying to look for a job, and I have an impressive resume, and I haven't heard anything back from anyone.

Hi,my friend, we all encounter some bad lucky days. One month ago, there was rain and after the rain dropped down to the ground, it became ice because we live in a very cold place. Then that day the commute buses cancelled, and i can't go back home, the next day, we took on the commute bus, we all knew that it will take more time to go home because of the bad condition of the road. But it is really a long time. After the bus took on the freeway, there were two trucks knocked each other, therefore there was traffic congestion. We waited and waited, well, it wasted us 3 hours to move again. and it was almost dark after we were home, that was a real bad lucky day.

when u are using somebody's precious thing u should be more careful so this was your friends careless ness to keep the laptop in your path. in my opinion it is better not to ask for precious things when u are not responsible for perfectness

You are exactly the same like me. Till now i have lost 3 branded mobiles from different places and different occasions but the common factor is its all when i was sleeping. Last month my friend lost his $1000 laptop when he felt asleep in the train. In my point of view don't take your friend wrong, he might be urgent at the time. You know deep sleeping with no consciousness is the major problem for you, me and most of the people. At the same time, it is an advantage for us when compare to some other people with sleeplessness. Be positive. Just tell your friend keep laptop safely inside the bag till now. Keep the sleeping place neatly and clearly. Be careful to set the things safely when you are taking travel.

first, i'm sorry for you badluck in losing 3 cellphones, and also for your friend who also falls asleep in a public place that cause him to loose his laptop.. second, i'm not blaming my friend for what had happen, i know that it was nobody's mistake and it was nobody's choice or want for it to destroy. i know that things like this really happen in life, but it's also not my fault to feel this way especially that it happened to me.. third, right now i'm feeling a little bit okay, besides i'm enjoying posting comments here in my lot, it diverted my attention and don't think of that bad luck too much thanks for your comment, let's just try not to take deeply down in sleeping so things like this won't happen again to us

Thats too sad for you and very careless of your friend. Things as such happen in our life where you can't blame others for your own fault. Life plays with us all the time.

That's really depressing. Imagine it cost a lot and is so new. You haven't really enjoyed it so much and now the LCD's broken. DOes your friend already know what happened? I wouldn't blame her too it's no one's fault she don't know that it would happen. But she should at least put it on a table or a chair maybe. A place where nobody might step on it. No your fault too because you might be waking up every night and peeing with nothing to think about anything expensive to be stepped on the floor. I hope you get your LCD fixed.

You must feel really depressed.. I haven't had this experience with my laptop but I something similar happened with my glasses. I was on holidays and I came back drunk really late. I put my eye glasses on a small chair next to my bed and when I woke up the next day I tried to catch my phone and throwed my glasses down. They broke when they hit the floor and I had to spend the rest of my vacations without glasses which means I was almost blind! I have high myopia and I buy crystals because they aren't very thick, so they costed me around 200 euros to replace the broken glass. The good think was that I was forced to wear contact lenses for the first time and I actually found them very convenient. I hope you will be able to repair or replace your laptop soon, it's a shame when this kind of things happen. We just have to be more careful next time! Good luck..

i'm sorry about your broken glasses too, but i must say that contact lenses are far more better that the good old glasses, it was convenient and stylish a friend of mine also uses contact lens and she look really cute and fashionable, and if ever my eyes get damage too i might as well use one.... thanks for the goodluck about my damaged laptop and i'll try to repair it as soon as i can or i might just buy a new one if i be very lucky and rich
