Too Early, Too Late

I don't like going to work too early. I don't know but it doesn't feel right for me. I also don't wanna be late, this could cause me my job. But then again, it's pretty hard to make it just in time. It should be either early or late. I could eat something when coming in too early but I just don't have the willpower to do so. All I ever do is sit in my station and contemplate, and also blame myself for coming in too early. Of course I also blame myself whenever I'm late, which had happened several times over, by the way. Do you like arriving at workplace too early? Why? Why not?

Yes. Arriving early has become a habit to me, not only to work but also in every tasks I have been doing routinely like going to church, conferences, meeting with staff, meeting a client, meeting relatives and friends, etc. I accomplished more by doing such routine. I am more prepared, more organized and have given myself 'edge' in everything I do.
But don't get me wrong, I am also late in some occasions and I also don't have perfect attendance at all times. But these tardiness and absences from work are for VALID reasons like important meeting at my son's school, when he is sick and needed doctor's attention and so on and so forth.
One need not have a will power to be punctual. If you love your work, you will not be spending idle time doing nothing neither would you be bored or blame yourself for either being early or late from work. Do not be a typical 9 to 5 employee if you want to better yourself. Do something good for the company and I'm sure the company will do the same to you.

Oh, you're a mom. I'm quite sure they'd understand whenever you're late. I, on the other hand, don't have any reason why I should be late. My officemates would often times see me smoking in front of the office so they can use that as a reason for me being late.

I don't love my job. The only thing I'm still working for the company is because I'm trying to pursue my dream job.

Do you love your work?
If you answer yes, then better yourself and show the company your worth. Again, you need not be the typical 9 to 5 employee, you have to make a move to better your job by being punctual and responsible.
If you answer no - get out of your work and do the one job you love.

I hate being late to work. So everyday, it's a routine for me to set my time leaving the house earlier, giving allowance to the usual problem on the road, traffics.
I arrived in the office, usually 10 to 15 minutes earlier. What I did, is checked my paper works and arranged in order of time to be completed so there won't be a
back log on them. Being late sometimes may cause work problems or your decision making caused by lost time.

That is correct. Decision making often requires more time if you really wanna make the right ones. That's also one of the reasons why I don't like being late arriving at work. Although being early really does make me regret it. I'm not sure why but I think this has something to do with the working environment.

I always come at work early.
I was never late before- almost yes.
Anyway, I just resigned from my previous job due to too much stress and you know about it -we're working same boat (before)

Yeah, too much stress when you're in the call center industry. I just had a rough call earlier and I'm on a break. Stupid customers, signing themselves up for a subscription then complaining why they're getting billed.

I always try to reach the office 15 minutes before starting working hours, so that I feel fresh at the beginning of office works. Late coming in any day would bring a lot of uneasiness to me, especially during the initial few hours.

Yeah. I also don't like starting work with a headache or something. I do make it point sleeping right before going to work. Working with the right state of mind really is important or you'll mess up a lot of things, especially considering most work now involves multitasking.

I too am always early to work. One place I worked at,the time clock would only let you clock in three minutes early.I usually would just sit there till it was time to clock in.Actually,I am early to everything. If I have to be somewhere by 12:00 I am usually ready by 9:00 that morning.(no exaggeration)

That's too early if you ask me. I think that extra 3 hours of you waiting is a waste. I'd rather play video games first for an hour than wait til you log in for work.

I would feel stressed if I wasn't there early. It doesn't mean that I go inside to work, but I need to be there so that I know I won't be late. I balance that need with a stress-reliever like a good book that I keep in the car and only read before work. So I'll just spend a few minutes in the parking lot with some good background music playing, reading a good book and reclining way back in the seat. Those few minutes help my attitude before I go in.

That's a great routine before going in. I really don't have any other routine other than smoking before working. Somehow, it sets me in to work the whole 9 hours. I guess those routines really do help us during the course of the day.
