I have a daughter who sleeps late every night...She would spend hours on the computer, and one time I caught her playing games on it... How could I convince her to stop this nocturnal practice she's into now?

If you own a laptop, keep the laptop every night in a secured locked cabinet. That way, she couldn't use it until you bring it out the next day. Of course, talk to her about why you are doing this. You can also set computer hours for her like allowing her to use the computer between 6 to 8 in the evening. After that, she has to turn it off.

Well you could force your way into turning the computer off. You should express your power as her parent so that she wills top doing bad habits that may cause her body resistance to falter. You could also try explaining it to her. Your choice.

How old isyour daughter? If she is young enough to be told what to do i think you willnot have problems, you can just try to be more strict and when you tell her to do things, etc be sure that she knows you are serious with what you are telling her or you are serious with the rules. Otherwise, i think it iwll just be words without meaning for her and she will still be doing whatever that pleases her.

How old is your daughter? If she is a teenager, I am sure this is one of the big problem of us (parents) I also have same problem with my sons- they stayed late playing games online. They will say, they're on research and then, when I checked on them- they're just playing. I do not give them their allowance and that help. They can use the pc late at night during weekends but not on weekdays or schooldays.

That might be hard. It's possible she is a night owl and her energy level is way higher at the end of the day or even night as it is in the morning. So best thing is to find out about that first. If this is true she will always feel broke in the morning no matter how early she goes to bed. But it would be a good thing to not use the computer or being very active 2 hours before bedtime.

Well I used to be a teenager not that long ago. I used to stay up till 2-3 o'clock at night when I was in high school. I mainly did it because I felt with all of the school junk that was going on (marching band, home work, etc) I just wanted a little quite time to play my games or watch tv. Its a pretty good excuse I think ^.^ But I will say this, eventually my grades reflected how much sleep I got. My mom didn't really care that much when I stayed up, she was more concerned with my grades. So a week or two of not being able to see my friends straightened it right out.
