Last year I got sick near New Year's Eve. This year, I was in perfect health just on the 13th and starting yesterday morning I got pretty sick ( coughs and soar throat as well as the need to spit with mucus). Point is, this time I might have a chance to get rid of it BEFORE this Christmas but it got me thinking, maybe the stress of everything just before the year ends got to me ? Do you get sick for the holidays ? Isn't it annoying when you get sick all of the sudden ? I for one started thinking what did I do to get like this all of the sudden. And if you have some tips other then tea (lemon, honey) or medicine please tell me.

I am sick sometimes around the holidays. I hate it when that happens because you cannot enjoy it.

So sorry to hear this! Drink a lot of liquids to break up the mucus. I you have a fever see the doctor and get some antibiotics. No fever, it could be sinuses draining that is causing your sore throat. If your face is sensitive near your eyes and nose you might have a sinus infection that needs antibiotics. Otherwise you'll just have to suffer through. Plenty of rest is called for. I hope you get better soon!

I hope so too, especially considering that I should complete my driving school and possibly the 2 exams (writing and field test) before the year ends.

There are many times I have been sick over the Holidays. Many times it has been a cold, or a touch of the Flu, etc. I know that with the hustle and bustle and busy times of the holidays it can happen. All I can say is right now I am feeling OK. Life is busy and going to be even more hectic the next two weeks here. Just trying to eat right and keep healthy for sure.

Hello elitess. It is annoying to get sick for the holidays. Sometimes I have the same case. In the last few months when it was my holidays, I got sick in the throat, a sore throat that I had to keep on drinking more water every now and then. I know why I got sick. It was because of some fried food I took that got me sick. Once I get sick, it will take a long time for me to recover. Take care, elitess.

I hate that too especially when i am having a long vacation and I could not enjoy. try mixing a teaspoon of cinammon with a tablespoon of honey and then drink it. I have read about that before and relieves cough too. Get well soon before the holiday comes.

Is common to get get sick for the change of the weather on this time of the year. What mom used to do was make like a syrup with brown sugar and lemon and boiled for two minutes and give two spoon of that daily for the cough. I hope you get better.
