Rock Music? Dead or is it still out there?

Several years ago, I noticed a dramatic decrease in the number of people that like/listen to Rock music. Most people I know now listen to the popular type of music; Rap, Techno, R&B, Pop, etc. I found out I don't like any of this kind of music, with the exception to some older Rap. I mostly to Rock, many variations of Rock music.
What do you think of the new popular type(s) of music that seem to be taking over the entire society? Do you think Rock bands aren't as popular as they once were? Do you think the Rock n' Roll era is going to come back anytime soon?

It is still out there, but I suggest going on to youtube.com and getting into the Indie scene. Indie rock is where it's at right now. Pomplamoose is the one that I recommend.

I always look for good music bands, so I'll make sure to check that band out.
My point is, Rock music just isn't as popular as before. It irritates me to know that some people have never listened to a rock song (I have met some of those trust me). I always look on Youtube for good music aswell, I mostly end up listening to music releases 10+ years ago when rock dominated.

Yes, there are so many Indie bands out there, and YouTube is the place to see them right now. I love rock music too, but I also know that the radio isn't where it's at unless you can find a radio station that plays rock all of the time.
In Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Bernardino County, California, we have STAR 98.7 for Alternative Rock and KROQ 106.7 for Modern Rock. I am sure that there are other stations, but those are the two that come to mind right now.

Rock is not the in-type of music nowadays. Popular music now is more on disco, r&b and pop. Their are still bands who plays rock but the music itself is not that influencing and good compared to years back when disturbed, korn, slapshock, slipknot, greyhoundz, urbandub and other bands rule the music scene. I think it's just a cycle, rock scene will come out soon.

Oh boy, I hope they do. I agree with you that rock bands are not on the same level of awesomeness as they did in the 'time of rock'.
